Kill Mom But Don't Hurt TV, Teen Tells Hitman
MIAMI (*******) - A Florida teen charged with hiring an undercover policeman to shoot and kill his mother instructed the purported hitman not to damage the family television during the attack, police said on Thursday.
Police in the southwestern Florida city of Fort Myers arrested the boy, 17-year-old Carlos Chereza, on Tuesday on a charge of soliciting to commit first-degree murder.
Tipped by an informant that Chereza had offered to pay to have his mother killed, an undercover detective posed as someone willing to do the job, Fort Myers police said.
Chereza offered the detective $2,000 that he expected to inherit from his mother's bank account, and gave him the keys to the family apartment, a map of the apartment and a picture of his mother, the police report said. He asked that the shooting be made to look like a burglary, it said.
"Carlos stated that he didn't want anything to happen to the television," the detective wrote in the arrest report.
Police arrested the teen immediately after the meeting with the detective, and the mother was unharmed. Police spokeswoman Kara Winton said the motive was related to domestic problems within the family, but declined to elaborate.
Someone is going to get grounded.

The problem with kids living with only mothers is that a man by human culture is considered the top and is giving respected authority. Like it or not ladies, things are like that.
I admit that some women are great leaders but if they're all whine and scream then they just become annoying, even if they're a parent.
There needs to be fathers to preserve order. Fathers that'll slap that kid for Pre-School to High School.

Hitting a child is not acceptable. Almost always, the only thing it accomplishes is training another person to abuse those weaker than them.
Whether it's acceptable or not, does it really have a point? Sure, it can show a child that something is unacceptable, but there's other ways to show something is unacceptable. I know this sounds awfully stereotype liberal leftie, but 'teaching kids at a young age that violence is the solution is not the way to go'.

Tane...although I accept the fact you are a parent(I think I remember reading that here somewhere?) and likely have heaps more experience with kids than I do......
I can't help but disagree(although I certainly don't think BEATING children is acceptable).....
If I hadn't been slapped around by nuns, priests, Franciscan Brothers, and my parents.....I'd likely be doing or already have done very naughty things.
The older I get, the more I think learning about risk/reward is VERY important.
The RISK of getting caught and the punishment it will entail should be so high as to negate even considering the illicit reward.
And since we learn much from our experiences, I reckon anyone who goes through life WITHOUT having experienced the immediate sting of punishment....may run into potential trouble down the round....I think better to learn the most valuable lessons EARLY(corporal punishment), when the consequences are relatively minor, than when it's too late.
Same issues way down here with kids/adolescents........
When I grew up.....there were lines that were NEVER crossed.....in Catholic school we didn't fear God......we feared the staff, and our parents.
Now I see the same lines getting crossed...and I can't help but think a bit of "old school" wouldn't hurt.....cause the
"new school" doesn't seem to be working so well......or maybe I'm just getting old(er).

Come on, you can raise a kid without corporal punishment. Just for example, take away the things he likes. If he wants to play football outside, keep him in the house. If he wants to go on the computer, don't allow him to (power supply calbe anyone? :P), if he wants to look tv, don't allow him to. Etc. Works just as fine...what it's all about is just putting some negative consequence to his action. Now what's the use of beating your kids up apart from maybe making them more aggressive or putting them on a path of violence.
Besides, all the pro-hitters say that 'the other way' has failed...but, how can we be sure they were even raised 'the other way'. I also think that most of the kids that go wrong aren't raised the wrong way, they just ain't raised at all. They were never punished in any way, whether peacefully or violently, there was never anyone around to raise them, and THAT's what seriously screws someone up.

Pretty broad generalization there junior. Farmgirl is a widow and does a hell of a good job with her kids, as well as controlling high school kids in her classes on a daily basis. Tane is right as far as I'm concerned, I did spank my kids under extreme circumstances when they were little, like when they repeatedly try to stick fingers in light sockets etc. It's done for pure shock value and to make a point you can't explain to a 2 year old. If you don't learn to control your kids without hitting them then you've got communication failure. My kids certainly aren't perfect but they know when I'm serious about something.
Now excuse me while I check my gun locks and hide my ammo and buy them lots of ice cream. ;)

Discipline is a hard thing. My Dad whacked me when I was growing up and I can truthfully say I deserved every smack on the backside I got. He did it there and then and it was over. In later years he told me he hated doing it but he felt that a short sharp shock was a lot better 'cause it was done and dusted and forgotten about. Those of us who are blessed with loving parents find the behavious of this muderous little idiot just plain incomprehensible. Now WTF do we do with him ?

Thank you, Joe. I would tend to agree that children need both fathers and mothers in their lives, and unbroken homes are better. However, as we all know, that isn't always possible. I do my best with my children, and I'm sure I don't always do the right thing. I do hope that no matter what... they always know that they are my #1 priority, and I love them more than anything. I have spanked my children, but it was often for matters regarding their safety. A smack on the hand to keep them from burning themselves... that sort of thing. Beating is never okay. I do feel that spanking can be okay... given the right circumstances.
As for kids at school.... they are no problem at all. I don't fear them, so they do as I say. The teachers who show fear might as well hang it up. The kids make their lives miserable.

I know which ones are having ***..... kids forget that teachers are around sometimes.... we know a lot more than you think we do..... ;)
thats the scariest thing in the world, kinda the same were i used to live, ,i had to be very carefull what i did (super sneaky) because everyone new/ or parents worked for my dad, scary stuff

Trust me.... I'm in charge at my house and in my classroom. My daughter is 15, and she's not a pothead, so I guess I'm doing okay. ;)
No offense, but even if she was, unless she's a die-hard junkie you propably wouldn't know. Just my personal experience.
Well if shes a regular user, someone who spends a lot of time with kids (like farmgirl) would probably notice some suspicious behavior changes. Strange money spending patterns, school problems, shorter attention span, etc.
True, you might notice at a really active user, but say, for example someone who uses only 2-3 times a month...or someone who only does it at (birthday) parties. Small chance that you find out.
Well lets get real. If you do it at birthday parties,or even once a month chances are it does significantly less harm to you, then smoking regular cigarettes. It becomes are PROBLEM when you do it frequently and spend significant amount of time and money on it.
Nah, I don't wanna sell anything. I just wanna make her drug-addicted so I can take cheap advantage of her. Then I'll get her as far as to make me farmgirls son-in-law. And that...would bring me closer to her than any of you. MUHAHHA.
Okay, in all seriousness... I'm Dutch... I know about these kind of things. ;) That's why I give my 2 cents. :P

Well that's just the start. But after that it's pretty easy to expand 'secret activities'. It's not like it can't be done.

[As for kids at school.... they are no problem at all. I don't fear them, so they do as I say. The teachers who show fear might as well hang it up. The kids make their lives miserable.
Yeah couldnt agree more with you. Teachers who show fear or lack of confidence, absolutely loose any chance of keeping order in the classroom.
I know this was a few posts ago but Confidence towards teachers helps a whole lot.
There's a sub-teacher in my school that can put order into the class within less than 5 minutes! :cantbeli:
Subs are known to have the least authority and lose control at the slightest disturbance. Not this man. When he walked in he lectured us like a Marine without even raising his voice. Everyone in the class was wide-eyed with fear. Whipped out the vocabulary on his lecture and when a kid asked what a word meant he simply pointed to the dictionary.
One kid acted up. Apparently he had a "McNabb" Football jersey. He was sent to the hallway to write a letter of apology and when he turned in the letter the teacher said, "You are about as worthless as McNabb"
That boy probably cried himself to sleep that night and never got smart with a teacher again.
Thats what America needs!

Too bad there's no snow here so your snow shoes are pretty useless. Just give up man...just let us Dutchies colonize.
