Does anyone know or know where I could find (except wikepedia) the average rate of fire of the Mauser Kar 98k?
Great help, cheers.

I think the man's name was Law and the book he wrote was Backbone of The Wehrmacht ,I think all the info you need is in that book.

Yeah.
"Backbone of the Wehrmacht" is definitely the source for K98 info. Invest the money, and all your Mauser Kar.98 questions will be answered. (Collector Grade Publications)

I bet he's looking for the amount of aimed shots per minute for it.

I found the mauser 98 action stiff and not as easy as the Lee Enfield - and the 198 grain load I was using thumped a bit in the shoulder. Plus it had a 5 round mag vs the LE 10 round. However, in defence of the 98, it is reliable and as accurate as any infantry rifle of its era. 15 rounds a minute is easily within its grasp. If I can do it, so can you young lights. Count on a sore shoulder if you go for the mad minute. Bear in mind that if you were in a trench, you'd be shooting from a supported position and you'd have clips of ammunition lined up for use to save time.
