This is America's last real Cop Car.

It is a Chevrolet Caprice with the 9C1 option package. Either a 95 or 96 model.

It has a LT1 5.7 liter engine and will still smoke any cop car Ford has put on the road.

The model was discontinued in 1996 ( :bash: GM)

From 1994 to 1996 Chevrolet released cop cars that shared most of the same fatures as the Impala SS of those years.

Tis line of cars is still bascially produced in Australia. And I have seen some versions of it sold as a Caprice in the Mid East in use by police there.
I think the the Aussies refer to it as a Holden Commodore? An Aussies help out with this? I think they are putting the LS6 engine in them now.

Here in Sweden we have these "Piketen" in larger cities, difficult to translate
but simply SWAT-type of cops that patrols when not doing that other stuff. Often
young and scary badasses. Usually patrol in "squads" in Americans vans, often the
police is ridiculed and made fun of when they passes. But these guys are respected,
I would say that some of these young officers tend to bend the law a bit.

True in theory, but places without speed limit are getting rather scarce in Germany. Besides, we do have a speed limit everywhere and we had Porsches as well.

yeah most places do rolling road blocks......catch up with super fast camaros or porshes, box them in....then step on the breaks...much more effective then a road block.....problem with road blocks is the person spins a 180 dodges the road block then heads into on coming traffic

Concerning that "waste of state money" thing:

We used to have white/green police cars. Nowadays all newly bought police cars are silver/green with the green parts beeing removable foley.

The reason is that this way, they can sell the cars after a few years of use more easily. They had problems selling the white ones, because nobody wanted them. That's the main reason why they changed to silver/green.

But it also looks much cooler in my eyes. ;)

the massachusetts state police on the highway, have mostly cruisers, but they have some blinged out suvs, and sports cars, so they fool you. they come up behind you in the far left lane and they kind of tailgate you a bit, and then when you take off, because you just think they are some asshole in a blinged out ride...that's when they get you.

I don't know if they're some sort of special organization, but I know that Carabiniere means police officer, so I figure that Carabinieri is some sort of national police organization or just a general term for Italian police.
