View Full Version : What Sight should I get?

Good Afternoon Fellas. I picked up a new flat Top Ar 15 over the weekend at the Harrisburg Firearms Show. I want to put some optics on it and am interested in either an Eotech, Aim Point or an Acog Reflex. Can some of you Weapon Pro's give me your favorite of the three?

Get a quarter. Tails - EOTech, Heads - Aimpoint... If you can't afford either, then Reflex.

Eotech - the field of vision is much greater then that of an aimpoint and its about a 100 or 200 cheaper. I've had one on my ar-15 for a while now and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I'd go for an eotech if an ACOG isn't an option.

Thanks James, youre the pro so I trust youre judgement. Wish I could afford the Acog. Cant at the moment.

Ive seen the discussions on what is good and isnt. I wanted opinions from these select models only. I havent used any of these so I simply asked and now I have opinions to make the best choice of where my dollars will go.

I've owned(own two now) 3 Eotech 552 Rev Fs, I owned 1 Reflex II, and never owned but have used the Aimpoint. I would say it's pretty easy to guess which one I prefer;)

Eotechs $100-$200 cheaper than Aimpoints? Where? I just picked up a second ML2 for $100.

Eotech 512 or 552. Don't get the N cell 511 series. You could get the new 553 with lithium cells.

Just a range rifle ofcourse, But I want it tricked out to add value. A for me to appreciate it more. I have several rifles that I have moded but this is my first AR, and im not cutting any corners. I wish i could afford the acog but at that price I would just rather get another rifle.

I've heard great things about the EOTech, not much experience with it myself.

You should not have to pay anymore than $350 for a Eotech 552 Rev F, ARFcom is your friend;)

I've tried all three and prefer the Aimpoint. What little experience I have is based on 3-gun match practice sessions (haven't competed yet). I've also used the Aimpoint out to 300m on the standard Army E-Type silhouette with no difficulty.

And you would be correct in saying that one cannot go wrong with the EOTech, it all comes down to personal preference. My preference being the M3/ML3 Aimpoint of course.

Thanks Geezah. I just became a member there and all i can say is wow there is alot of mod tips and cool rifles there. Friendly advise as well.

I'm speaking of the ml3s and also the ability to use it. Meaning mounts. Maybe 200$ is a little over now a days but a year or so ago when I was actually looking at purchasing aimpoints they were more expensive then they are now. Either way, I again suggest the Eotech.

I bought my ML2 (see profile pic) on Arfcom. I got a really good price on it, so I donīt regret it, but if I had to buy another optic, Iīd go Eotech.
