Whats the best dog breed? Don't forget, Girls like seeing guys with dogs. The logic is first the dog, then they get a look at the guy. Then Score! 2 or more girls approach you.
I personally like the welsh corgi.

Don't let the "cute" appearance fool you. I heard these dogs can be aggressive. But they're nice pets too. Playful but not hyper. Also very athletic.
Either German shepherd or labrador for me.

Labrador, Irish Setter, German Shepherd. Some friends of mine got these Rhodesian Ridgeback dog - its a nice one, although bit too delicate for our climate (winter), and... it farts awfully ;) . It's also sad but there are many dogs of agressive breeds such as Pitbulls, Amstaffs, Rottweilers around here in Poland, which are handled in tottaly wrong way, untrained, untamed and possibly dangerous, especially for the kids.

From clear breed dog
Sheprads generaly are the best, they have good psyche and are quality dogs. If I had to chose I would take one of those
POLSKI OWCZAREK NlZINNY(PON)
COUNTRY: Poland
WEIGHT: 30-50 pounds
HEIGHT:
Small up to 14 inches;
Average 16-18 inches;
Big over 19 inches
COAT: Thick, long, with shaggy hair covering the face
COLOR: All acceptable, including piebald
OTHER NAMES: Valee Sheepdog, Polish Lowland Sheepdog
REGISTRY: FCI, TKC
GROUP: Herding
http://www.thebreedsofdogs.com/images/POLSKI_OWCZAREK_NlZINNY.jpg
The Nizinny may well be the missing link between several modern, shaggy herding breeds and the ancient, corded herding dogs of the East. Of ancient lineage, bred from the Puli and the long-coated, medium-sized Hun herding dogs, some of these Nizinnys were traded by Polish sailors along their coastal destinations. Before long the sailors had a dog in every port. The Nizinny was instrumental in the ancestry of the Bearded Collie and Schapendoes.
Bred as a working dog since the 16th century by farmers and shepherds, the Nizinny was nearly extinct at the end of the Second World War. Most of the Polish people were concerned mainly with survival, not with the procreation and perfection of dogs, but—thankfully—a few breeders continued their lines from the scant six bitches and two dogs considered acceptable for breeding. A Polish veterinarian, Dr. Danuta Hrzniewicz, has been tireless in her efforts to rebuild the breed's foundation. These breeders' tough culling program produced today's version, which remains trainable, intelligent, and affectionate with children, yet alert to danger.
OWCZAREK PODHALANSKI
COUNTRY: Poland
WEIGHT: 100-150 pounds
HEIGHT: 24-34 inches
COAT: Long, thick, hard, straight or wavy
COLOR: White
OTHER NAMES: Tatra Mountain Sheepdog, Owczarek Tatrzanski, Polish Mountain Dog
REGISTRY: FCI
GROUP: Flock Guard
http://www.thebreedsofdogs.com/images/OWCZAREK_PODHALANSKI.jpg
The Podhale, where this breed originated, is a small region in southern Poland, against the Tatra range, which are the highest peaks in the Carpathians. The Podhalanski's history follows that of similar dogs from Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Rumania, all of which trace back to the white guardian dogs of the Eastern World. The Polish owca (****ounced "ofsta") means sheep, and owczarek (****ounced "ofcharek") is the generic term for sheepdog. This is the same meaning as the Russian word owtcharka or the Yugoslavian ovcar.
This native Polish breed is an outstanding mountain worker. The tail is used as a handhold while following the dog through rough and steep terrain]
Beside the traditional use as a livestock guardian, the Polish people often use these dogs for personal protection and as guard dogs in factories. Much like the people who breed them, the Podhalanskis are independent, self-sufficient and courageous. They are coveted for their attributes: heartiness, adaptability and bravery. Their personalities are more easygoing than most of the flock guardians, with irritability or cowardice being a fault. This may be due to the dogs' use for hauling carts among the dairy, horticultural and bakery trades. The same dogs may be used in the mountains during the grazing season and in winter brought to town to help with other chores.
Young dogs that show high intelligence are selected for police, military or guide dog work. Every dog serves the people in some way, and is treated well in return. Even the dogs lacking in talent are kept for their wool, with the combings used for upholstery and fine woolens!
Their owners claim the breed is easy to care for in both grooming and feeding. The coat is self-cleansing and "never requires bathing." Like many of the flock guards, Podhalanskis are surprisingly economical to feed.
The Podhalanski doesn't need people to be content. These dogs develop their own routines, and quickly attach themselves to environment, buildings, people or animals. As with the other flock-guarding breeds, dominance is exerted over another dog. The dominant one quietly puts his head on the other's shoulders as a reminder. Despite the more tractable tempera- ment, proper dominance must be exerted by the master early in the relationship to overcome the dog's natural independence. Otherwise he might quietly put his head on the owner's shoulder!
The Podhalanski is placid and cheerful, but American owners warn about his tendency to bark if left outside alone at night :cantbeli:. This breed is constantly on the alert.
The breed is popular in Poland and was intro-duced in the United States and Canada by a few imports in the 1980s. An American Foreign Ser-vice Officer stationed in Poland came to admire the breed. Once back in the States, he arranged
to acquire three of these magnificent Polish dogs. They left Poland "by a whisker," leaving the very day martial law was declared in 1981. From this modest beginning, the Polish Tatra Sheepdog Club of America has been formed to help promote the breed and to bring owners to- gether for a common cause.
But I like mixed-breed(non-breed) dogs much more...

We have a big problem here in the States with German Shepards(Alsatians) and hip dysplaysia. Many of our Police forces are now going with Belgian Malinois. A little smaller, less hair and nowhere near the genetic defects of the Shepards. They also have a harder bite and much more game(pain tolerant). The only problem that I have seen is that they are a little hyper at times and need a very dominant owner or they will completely dominate you. Great breed

I think "Best breed" is a silly question. The best breed for you depends on what you want in a dog. Italian Greyhounds make fantastic lap dogs/companions, but if what you want is a guard dog, they're useless. Anyway, here's my top three:
http://www.klinikpetmania.com/italian_greyhound.jpg
Italian Greyhound: This isn't my dog, but it looks almost exactly like her.
http://www.thaidog.org/atra/rhodesian_ridgeback_2.jpg
Rhodesian Ridgeback: Beo was right... they are cool. They can take down a freakin' lion, what's cooler than that?
http://www.furrycritter.com/resources/dogs/images/doberman.jpg
Doberman Pinscher: We had a bunch when I was very young... they were my first love as far as dog breeds are concerned.

Doberman and Lab mix -what could be better than an overprotective hyper ass dog. He is a bull moose - 7/8 months 55-60 pounds. Had Parvo - didn't die.
He is a lean mean eating machine. When I go mountian biking or ride horses he just runs along the trail. Bit retarded about eating that is alive though.
Here he is as a puppy, the masking hardly shows in these pictures.
