The Overwatch Battle Group (West)-Two has carried out its largest operation since arriving in southern Iraq in November.
A large portion of the Battle Group setup a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in the Ad Bibdibah Desert in the Al Muthanna province during an operation to gain a greater understanding of the desert region near the Saudi Arabian border.
Patrols travelled from the FOB to remote border forts to meet with members of Iraq’s Department of Border Enforcement (DBE). One of the DBE’s key tasks is to prevent smuggling operations.
Approximately 500 personnel, drawn mostly from Darwin's 1st Brigade, form the Overwatch Battle Group (West) - Two (OBG(W)-2). The Battle Group is helping the Iraqi Security Forces and Provincial Governments build a secure and stable Iraq. OBG(W)-2 operates in the Al Muthanna and Dhi Qar provinces as part of the Multi National Force - Iraq.

Interesting to see the ASLAV's with Kongsberg Protector RWS fitted.........the other images also show UNIMOG's with Armoured Cabs, and Bushmasters all operating in the task/operation.

The person standing near the rear door is a woman hence the pony tail........

According to Wikipedia[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combat_Vehicle_90#Variants) the CV 9056 variant was a cancelled. BTW, the Finnish exercises winter 06 (http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showpost.php?p=2237818&postcount=62) thread as some pics of other CV 90's variants in action. ;)

It's a BMP-3F (naval infantry version). The difference is the noticeable sand-protection ring on the drive sprocket (first introduced on UAE-BMPs), the absence of the large LRF above the gun (instead a smaller is mounted to the right of the gun) and the splash strip on the turret to prevent waves from spilling over the turret roof

Production between June and September 1920 produced 16 to 17? cars. 8 Ford Tfc’s formed 1 Kolumna Samochod�w Pancernych (1 Armored Cars Column) and was involved in Battle of Warsaw (August 1920) and raid on Kowel (September 1920), besides other smaller battles.

I had a ride in a Danish M113G3 a couple of weeks ago.
Totally different experience than with steel-tracks.
It's incredible how much they reduce noise and vibrations.

CASCAVEL
The EE-9 Cascavel armored reconnaissance vehicle was developed by Engesa at the same time as the EE-11 Urutu (http://www.military-today.com/apc/ee11_urutu.htm) armored personnel carrier and shares many components with it. In 1975 it entered service with Brazilian Army and later on was exported to some African, Asian, South American and Middle East countries.
The EE-9 Cascavel has an armored hull welded from a multi-layer armor. Vehicle's front armor protects crew from 12.7-mm rounds.
A two-man turret houses a 90-mm gun and a coaxial 7.62-mm machine gun. It is worth mentioning that the first production vehicles for the Brazilian Army were armed with a 37-mm gun (EE-9 Mk.2), while the export models (EE-9 Mk.3) had French 90-mm guns. The EE-9 Mk.4 had a license-built EC-90 gun. This gun has a rate of fire in 6 rpm. A 12.7-mm machine gun is mounted over the commander's hatch, however some vehicles are fitted with a 7.62-mm MG instead. The EE-9 armored reconnaissance vehicle has a rather powerful armament and can be also used as a fire support vehicle.
The EE-9 Cascavels Mk.2, 3 and 4 are powered by a Detroit Diesel 6V-53N diesel engines, while the Mk.5, 6 and 7 models are fitted with a Mercedes-Benz OM352A diesel engine, delivering 190 hp.

eastwards through russia, alaska, then south along the californian beaches, stopping in front of arnold schwarzeneggers house to sound the horn and make him jealous, through nevada, texas, alabahma, new york, up north along the eastern coast, greenland, iceland, scotland, southwards to london, stopping in front of the York at Angel station drinking a nice ale (IPA is preferred), southwards through france spending a day while driving arround the Arc de Triomphe and then back home. I know it will take me a livetime but imo it is worth it.

im pretty sure that there is a Command version of the stryker out there, but i dont know if that is going to be replacing the m577. I it is the m1130 stryker CV(command vehicle) but i think it falls into a different class than the m577. I would post a picture of it but this school computer(stupid mac) is being retarded and not letting me.
