hey fellas,

i just saw the movie "sniper2" with tom berenger. not as good as the first one but still nice action for occasionally entertainment. but i wonder which rifle is used by the balkanese (?) sniper who fights the duel with beckett at the end..? never seen a rifle like this before, does someone have informations and pictures regarding to that weapon? would be quite cool!

cheers,

apm

Ah, yes, the Balkanese. Dangerous chaps, those.

I can't say I've seen the movie, since the first one was bad enough. Try going to www.world.guns.ru and browse around to see if you can find it--that's a decent online reference site.

yep tried this but at least in my point of view i didnt find anything similar...maybe it´s a fictional weapon, but if not i´d really like to now which one. it looks like a oversized tavor but it is a bolt action rifle...

If you can you should make a screenshot and post it here. It'll be easier to help you.

Did it look Eastern or Western?

I KINDA THOUGHT THE 1ST SNIPER MOVIE WAS OK BUT SNIPER 2 WAS A A LETHAL WEAPON ITSELF, IT ALMOST KILLED ME TO SIT THROUGH IT!!:fork:

Are you talking about the surplus one he found with the scope?

On another note, that movie sucked compared to the first

Goofs: Factual errors: The rifle shown to Berenger in the cache of "antiques" and called a "Mauser seven-nine-two" was most certainly not a Mauser. By the looks of it and the cartridge compartment in front of the trigger guard, it appears to be a Moisin-Nagant seven-six-two. Though also of WW II origin, there is a vast difference as one was used by German snipers and the other was used by Russians. I notice later in the film, he is even using a "sporterized version" which has the lowered bolt lever rather than the straight stock version. yeah but i was asking for the weapon the enemy sniper used and i didnt want to argue about the movie...
indeed it look eastern to me, unfortunately there arent many scenes where you have at least a partial view on the weapon. it looks as i said very similar to a tavor and it seems also to be set up in bullpup design, but it is a bolt action rifle.

but i need a programme to take a screen, either a screenshot capturer or a dvd player with this possibility, because somehow i cant take screenshots from power dvd. only black screen in the players window.

i know this is a silly solution, but at least something until i found a screen cap programme (hypersnap, screen capturer and vlc player also failed to take the screenshot)...

It might just be a Hollywood fantasi gun? Or check here www.hkpro.com (http://www.hkpro.com)

ok ^^ maybe it is, but i doubt that i´ll find it on a hk' dedicated site...
i know it would be better if i had screens for you - but does someone know a possibility to take a screenshot from a dvd player programme like powerdvd?

I think it was M93 Crna Strela.

Never seen the film, so I've no idea, but this is the M93 black arrow (12.7 mm and a nice rifle, if a bit heavy ;) BTW)

You tried the Print Screen key on your keyboard, didn't you? That won't work, it'll just give you a blank screen. Use PowerDVD's screenshot button.

 finally, thanks! and also a big thanks for the hint

yeah this was the weapon i was talking about! but if it is a fake...well then nevermind^^ as quoted often the only reason why i asked was that i´ve never seen a weapon like this before.
