Amigo. It's been awhile since I've looked in the photo thread, but did you ever get a DSLR after the whole fiasco? If you got yourself a Canon check out that new 40mm wide angle/macro kinda lens they came out with.. for the price it's not too bad of a lens.
Just look at his quality posts. You decide. lol
