A page which might talk to you Bridge ;) http://www.againfaster.com/again-faster-tv/ That site is a fantastic resource checkout the videos and articles tonnes of useful stuff. Almost as good as www.crossfit.com !!
Glad to be of assistance Bridge! :O) A couple of extremely high pay back execises id start learning and working now would be - deadlift and pullups. Focus on them and thrusters, dont scatter your effort too much at the start. Youll get a full pullup in no time working that GTG protocol.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjBI9qxibTc&feature=related
Yeah, good call. Sometimes I have a tendency to overdo it, and I pay for it for the next few days. I really like this type of workout though.. Definately the type of good cardio I need. Thanks Bughunt. You're a great internet personal trainer:)
LOL thrusters ARE badass a extremely good "head to toe" exercise. Absolutely nothing wrong with stopping at 6 reps - infact starting anywhere from 4-8 is good.... Once you build to 8 rounds then ramp up intensity/weight etcetc..(if you wish) ;) Id say to start with 1 lot of tabata is good enough. You may FEEL like you can do more but generally starting out peeps have a tendency to overdo the first day and give themselves too much musclar soreness that they cant workout (or function) the next day.... So id advise doing light work - in a different movement - say get working on your pullups again. But nothing really intense - get some quality protein and a bit of carbs down your neck (your in the golden hour). Keep this sorta level of work for a few days then assess how good or bad you feel..id say 1-2 more days of working out (at this level) then a day of rest.... After that assess things. You might want to start some sort of diary - keep track of times/ reps nutrition how good or bad your sleep or day went. Overtime thisll give you important insight into areas of improvement....(dont worry most of us dont begin with good sleep/rest/food habits). Good habits have to be learnt and a RECORD is a good motivational tool. Can you see why you dont specifically need a "cardio" session to work your heart and lungs? :D
Haha! Actually I just tried the dumbell thrusters. I used 12lb weights, and could only do 6 sets rather than 8. Holy crap! I had to lay on the ground afterwards and wait for the pain to stop :) Is that it for the workout for the day? or could I do 6 sets of tabata pushups too?
Hey Bridge why not do a tabata squat now? Tis only a fairly innocuous 4 mins right? Anything in 4mins cant be that hard?? :D You could use the sound in that youtube clip to keep time (coach is calling out the stops) or use a program - http://tabata.sperker.de/index.php?nav=download&d_sub=dld_wl If you do one i promise ill get my lazy arse into gear and do one too - ps well ignore the bottom to bottom bit ;O)
Hallo there! Ive been kinda layin off the gym and doin more crossfit style excercizes, running, sprints, weight vested push ups, assisted pullups..stuff like that. Thanks again for all the good info. Hopefully it pays of for me:)
Hey gurl hows the training going? ;O) What style of workout did you decide on doing?
