  1. "Live like there's no tomorrow, love like you're never gonna get hurt, and bury them like the cops are coming."

Words to live by indeed good sir, indeed :D
  2. Sure thing.
  3. Ah good call. Thanks junglejim, and if/when I pop round the Phillipines, Ill msg you and we can go get drunk or something!
  4. I suggest Singapore first, its very first world but is like a light intro to SE Asia, from there you can get a buss to move around in Malaysia, then a bus or train to Thailand. From there on out one can hope scotch to Vietnam and other countries. Japan and the Philippines are separated from the continent, so can get quit expensive.
  5. Ah I see. Well maybe will look into Mindano then too.

tbh, for sure in my life I want to visit SKorea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, the Phillipines, Thailand, Indochina area, southern China, Russian Far East/Vladivostok, and maybe even move to Japan or something for a while. I figure I can for the more expensive places only visit one at a time, and for some of the cheaper ones, cram a few in. tbh, I've had an insane travel bug all my life, and I dont know how to explain it, but its like Im feeling I HAVE to go, something is telling me I should. Find some oppurtunities, meet new people, and who knows, find love? I laughed when a college friend (the one who married the Japanese woman) said all kinds of things can happen - apparently he met his wife while on the Eurorail touring Europe. Crazy but eh.

As for you, thats understandable. Enjoy life
  6. Not rushing on that one, again most my friends are being married mid to late 30's now. We dont have a divorces, so nobody is rushing on doing something stupid. Mindanao is safe, unless you go looking for trouble, trouble wont come looking for you. It is actually a lot safer there than in Manila. What other countries do you plan on hitting up?
  7. Yeah I know its expensive...Im debating whether to just do one real nice and quick, or save up a long time for a tour. I figured the cheaper cost-of-living prices would help redress the balance somewhat. And yeah I dont intend to goto the capital, if anything because Ill miss out on everyday experience, or what passes for it. While I might peek my head in a franchise, I didn't pay God knows what to eat at Pizza Hut :)...plus I figure in Asia, you can gets tons of excellent food for real cheap. That kinda applies even here - quite a lot of the single joints/establishments have so much good food. I will prob stay clear of Mindano though.

Well as for that, Phillipines isn't completely in the East Asia orbit so norms kinda may differ. Friend who's married to a Japanese woman said the whole Christmas Cake thing is still very much alive in East Asia.

Speaking of which, what about you?! When you are you going to settle down and have a family lol
  8. If you are going for one Country, Philippines would be a nice destination, but if in an East Asian tour like you are planning? It would be expensive, due to the Airline Ticket, we are 3 hours away from the nearest mainland via air, so that international travel rates. Unlike going to Singapore or other Mainland destination where you can take a bus everywhere. Having said that everything in the Philippines is cheaper than over there in the US, and outside the capital city (I would recommend) it gets cheaper. White sanded beaches here are a dime a dozen so you dont need to pay "5 Star" to play in the sand. Food is cheap and there is always a McDonalds, Pizzahut, KFC, Krispy Kreme at every corner, should you miss home.

In the past that would be true on Asian women, but here in the Philippines my female friends that are single are in their late 20's and early 30's,some do think of marriage others not so. Not sure in other countries do, I think in China and Korea, it still applies.
  9. Hey JJ, I'm kinda saving money for an East Asia tour, and Im thinking Phillipines is on the list. What would be a/some good spot/s? Perahps with right mix of cheapness, good cheap food, nice atmosphere, etc?

Also, Im rereading sephs marriage thread, came across this:
"Dude onece a woman hits their 30's specially in Asian cultures, it not even hunting, more like a massacre. You can literally hear their biological clock ticking "

    ****ing gold man XD
