Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has been criticized in the past for his indelicate behavior, and now, he’s facing questions about whether or not he smoked crack, after reporters at Gawker and the Toronto Star insist that they’ve seen video proof. According to a report from the Star:

The conservative mayor dismissed the allegations, deeming them “ridiculous” and “absolutely not true.” He declined to comment further.

So far, there’s been no way to verify the authenticity of the video. Gawker editor John Cook reports that the owners of the footage are requesting $200,000 for it, and so, naturally, Gawker is crowdfunding in an effort to purchase it. By Saturday morning, the Rob Ford Crackstarter (yup) had raised around $50,000 from more than 1,900 funders. Cook explains the publication’s methodology:

Although this is certainly the most serious allegation made against the mayor yet, this clearly isn’t the first controversy he’s sparked. The Star rounded up 42 remarkable moments from his career, and the list includes plenty of misguided and otherwise befuddling statements Ford has made over the years. And for the unacquainted, Gawker’s got a less comprehensive introduction to all things Rob Ford.
So now what? We’ll add this burgeoning scandal to the impressively long list of Rob Ford fracases, and wait to see if Gawker purchases and publishes the video. Depending on how it plays out, we may be well on our way to a Rob Ford reality show.

TRIBECA, New York (PIX11) – People who live in one Tribeca Building are outraged after learning a photographer who lives across the street has been taking their picture through his window. On top of that–they’re now up for sale in an area gallery.

Photographer Arne Svenson has been secretly shooting his neighbors for months from the second floor of 125 Watts street. The images are now on display at a Chelsea gallery.

The exhibition is called “The Neighbors,” and while the candids don’t show their faces, neighbors that live in the building are livid. They feel their private lives have been documented and displayed without their permission.

The manager of the building says most of the people in the photos found out they were being watched only after seeing themselves, families and even their dogs online.

“Its unfortunate really the tenants found out online,” Manager Travis Kidd said. “He really should have gotten permission before he used them!”

The photos were shot through the large picture windows of the neighbor’s apartment building. They capture people in their private home doing private things. One woman is captured bending over and cleaning. Another features a man was tucking his children into bed. They’re now selling for thousands of dollars, and there’s nothing the people in the photos can do about it.

Experts say because the photographer didn’t show faces in these pictures it would be hard to press criminal charges.

The exhibition opened Saturday, and is getting plenty of media attention. If you check on Greenwich street today , most apartments now have their curtains closed tight and some say the show is over-they want their private lives back.

Australia is famous for its wildlife - kangaroos, koalas and numerous species of snakes and spiders - but it is also home to the world's largest herd of camels. There are about 750,000 roaming wild in the outback and they cause a host of problems.
Camels were imported to Australia in the 19th century from Arabia, India and Afghanistan for transport and heavy work in the outback.
But when the internal combustion engine came along and they were no longer needed, several thousand were released into the wild.
With no natural predators and vast sparsely-populated areas in which to roam, the camels have flourished and are having a huge impact on the wilderness.

(Reu ters) - The jackpot for the Powerball lottery has soared to a record $600 million and the top prize may swell to nearly $1 billion if no one draws the winning numbers this weekend, a lottery official said on Friday.
The potential payout of Saturday's jackpot could mean a one-time lump sum payment of $376.9 million. Officials reported brisk ticket sales across the country.
The top prize grew after no one won a drawing on Wednesday, said Mary Neubauer, a spokeswoman for the Iowa Lottery, where the Powerball is based.
The popular lottery, which is played in 42 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands, has not had a winner in two months.
