Oh hell yes! Whats your favorite $40ish and $60ish single malt. I'm still shopping for opinions.
I would have to say Pendleton Roundup Whiskey or some jack single barrel
Whats the favourite malt or whiskey for a: contemplation - a man and his space and a bit pf peace and quiet b: being sociable - old friends, tall stories, bullsh*t and cigars c: nightcap - just one for the road d: celebration - new baby, a windfall, kids off to college no mixers other than water or ice allowed ! For me - a: Lagavulin - that peat is wonderful - best by a real fire b: Black bottle - very good for the money ! c: Talisker or Oban - nice and warming d: Springbank 25 year old....my favourite age..:-P Irish whiskey - Bushmills malt Bourbons - Makers Mark - really took to this one
Im not a gormand really, I just enjoy whiskey. a lot. a: jameson, vat 69 b: vat69, ballantines finest, tullamore, black velvet, four roses.. d: highland park no wather, ice only occasionally. and I never really liked bourbons..
Lovin' Jameson Irish Whiskey at the moment, Johnny Walker Red Label is fun too.
Cant go too wrong with Jamesons, I'll admit.
I'm sipping VAT-69, right now, it's blended whisky but very good still... and it's reasonably priced. Other favorites are Grants and Wild Turkey. Wild Turkey is probably best bourbon I have ran into, strong taste, quite soft and rather strong, 101 proof (50.5%). It's made of rye malt. Regular is very good, but 12 years aged is even better.
You a bourbon fan ? If so, crack the bottle and tell us where you'd get a novice to start.
You'll forgive me, but as much as I love my Jameson, Bushmills and Jack Daniels (I know, quite different places and tastes) I am in love with the decent scottish Islay's: Scappa, Bowmore, Lagavullin and laphroaig, my actual preference to the last one
Evening chaps of fine taste. I'm partial to a bottle of Caol Ila Distiller's Edition. Partly matured in a Muskatel cask (13 yo).
