What's being a gunner like? I've heard it's awesome and I've also heard that the M242 is a pain....not sure if it differs from Bradley to LAV though. So it sounds like the CBRN LAV is a big myth, I've heard of all those variants you listed but have never seen anything about the CBRN one. Would the USMC have an MOS listed that doesn't actually exist? And I had a feeling you would say don't join the Marines, haha. I had always planned on getting my commission like I originally told you back in the day's of Kap's MC server, but a lot of that motivation drained away. Unfortunately for my military dreams, Boston is probably the largest biomedical science hub in the world, and it would be foolish to relocate anywhere else. Unless some branch puts planes at either Westover ARB or Otis ANGB, my flight plans are effectively grounded. I'm now looking more into the Reserves (Open to lots of MOSs) and maybe Air National Guard.
So being an 0313 is kind of like being a LAV mechanic as well? Hmm. I'm not super mechanically inclined (Kind of sad since my dad and grandfather were/are both skilled airline mechanics) but that doesn't seem to horrible. Are you a crewman or are you just one of the infantry scouts the rides in the back of the LAV? I did have one question about CBRN stuff though. My college major is biomedical science and I'm looking at moving into something like immunology or virology. CBRN sounds like that's the closest I can get to it in the Marines. The two enlisted CBRN MOSs I am seeing right now are 5731 and 5711. 5711 seems like a pretty straight forward CBRN guy but the 5731 MOS talks about operating some sort of special CBRN LAV variant. Now, that sounds cool. but I can't find any info on this CBRN LAV....like, at all. Does it even exist? I know the Army has some sort of fancy CBRN Stryker but I've never heard anything about a CBRN LAV until I looked into the CBRN MOS field.
Derpy question, but is LAR something worth looking into? Almost all of my motivation to fly drained away and LAR always seemed cool to me. Of course when I asked someone else in a West Coast LAR Battalion he just said "Lost and Retarded lol", so I'd appreciate your input. Gracias.
Yeah I'm at Bradley Leader's Course right now...gonna need to give my girl a name then.
Hooah, I have more than a few mentors that have worn that beret. Oh and that 25mm is a bitch...so many bruises and wounds on my arms and hands.
But we can still be lovers.
He should be but I couldn't say for sure, I haven't talked to the guy since I left back in July. I don't know how much interaction you guys have with your ammo guys.
I know an ammo tech with 2nd who used to be with Tango Battery 5/10. Brandon Lefavbre. Or something like that, we just called him Farva. No chance you know the kid?
You live in the O street barracks? And I didn't think I could ever want to go back to 29 until I lived in Lejeune/J-ville.
Which LAR are you with?
I hate this bulldog, regards Johnnycab
