Thank you very much. That means a lot. So far, so good. It came as a surprise but it's funny you would ask - in hindsight, I kept on getting sick and weird aches and pains. I chalked it up to a killer workout regimen or just getting older. Your Dad is OK now?

What's shaking, friend? Took a while off - actually, I had surgery six weeks ago. Spent most of the time in the hospital for perforated esophagus, collapsed lung, sepsis, pancreatitis, etc. Turns out I had a big tumor. It got removed, but for now I've joined the ranks of the yellow wristband set, weighing in at stage 3. I don't have to do chemo but I do take some nasty pills. Friends that have been through it say chemo sucks anyway. So far, so good. It has been more of a bitch trying to recover from all the surgery above all. My mobility is pretty limited and I'm usually hopped up on the good ****.

I agree. I took the gf and her kids over Thanksgiving and they were amazed at how cool people could be. Granted, they've not been mugged yet or had to pay 1100 a month rent. Some of the gentrification of the neighborhoods is amazing. One minute things look old and nondescript like 20 years ago and the next minute there are young folks with big glasses and messed up hairdos everywhere.
