Hey man, long time no talk. Been around the Fire Service lately?

so the photo really is you? great respect for firefighters/paramedics. and of course for all of our troops. i don't think the sandbox is anyplace we should be, there is far greater need for the boys and girls to be here, at home. not to mention the $80B it costs. any comments?

Yeah wheels are important. The problem with most fire depts is that they mainly run EMS calls. Not that theirs anything wrong with that, but i spent a lot more time on the ambulance than the engine, plus fightin fire is hard on your body, and 24 hr shifts suck if you run all night. BUT I still miss it. Theres a lot more $$ in nursing, but no feeling beats pulling up on a fully involved structure. Pure adrenaline!

Nah, I was a Firefighter for three years before I enlisted. I know what you mean man, I miss it more than anything. The feeling of pulling a line into a building and not knowing what the hell to expect is probably the biggest adrenaline rush I have had yet. I've looked at a few Volunteer stations down here myself, just need a car first damnit.
