Wow - big difference in what we catch. I was lucky enough to get a few pike while in Canada. Good fun. Most of the stuff in the rivers and creeks here is small - bream, flathead to a couple of kilos, but theres also jewfish (which can get up to over 40 kilos) and the occasionally Trevally (you guys call them jacks) which go like hell. If ever you get over to Aus - bring the fishing gear

What do you get in the fresh there? Ive fished for your largemouth bass, theyre quite fun. I live on the coast, so i spent most of my time flicking lures in the small saltwater creeks around here, but i suspect the things I catch are very different to what you guys get there.

A friend of mine took a 24 kilo tuna last week a half mile offshore. Ironically not far from where the third largest great white ever caught on rod and reel was taken. Thats gotta tell you its not the smartest place to fish

Im not yet a competent Yak fisher. Only had it a few months, and its a small one, so im confined to creeks and rivers.Not game to take it offshore unless its dead flat.

The fish im chasing out here are very different from what you folks get over there for the most part.
