no prob, every man in my family has used the VA, it is a very just cause.
Anne, our housing allowance back in 72-73 was much less than needed to cover the cost of a bare bones apt in alexanderia va. keep in mind, that was the "draft army" and not the volunteer army. I was in during the startup of the volunteer army. that is why i was in recruiting command. the money was much less, pay and housing etc. we thought the dc area was nice. pretty. our luck, we arrived during about a 12 inch snowfall in late feb/ early march time frame. we were in a 1968 VW bug. so our first impressions was way too much snow for texans. by the way...while i was in, they called me Tex. ha ha. what else? mygood buddy was from oklahoma and we called him okie. He know owns a graphics art firm in Wichita Falls, TX. his name is jerry nabors and I see him occasionaly. thank you for saying hello to klaus for me. i hope to make it to the wall before i cork it. i have crohns disease, and osteoprosis, and some other junk. not good health wise. later, jerry aka commanding
