I just finished my basic training. Our traing period lasts for 11 months and we get 3 week of after our basic. So that's what I'm doing now. I cant leave on any real "vacation", hence we are all on stanby and need to be able to get to the regiment within an hour. NO FUN

Do it. You are in the U.K for chirst's sake. You could be a professional soldier in a country with some of the best soldiers in the world.

Cyprus...I remember watch both Greek and Turkish soldiers along with UN peacekeepers there when I was there. How long did they keep you there?
