    SVU

SVU and SVU-A (Snaiperskaya Vintovka Ukorochennaya - Avtomat = Short Sniper Rifle - Automatic) is, basically, a shortened variant of famous SVD rifle, re-stocked into bull-pup configuration, with added folding ajustable bipods and muzzle device (flash hider and noise decreaser). SVU-A is SVU with added full-auto capability.
SVU is intended as a special law enforcement and tactical rifle, and is widely used by Russian Internal Affair Ministry Forces and OMON (kind of Russian S.W.A.T.) in Chechnya. This rifle is more compact, and have somewhat shorter effective range, than SVD.

I think you are correct. It seems to be the SR2M Veretsk http://www.tsniitochmash.ru/sr2en.htm

Probably the best submachine gun in the world. Also used by the guards in the Kremlin.

Interesting, I've never seen a picture of the SR2M in use before...

Whats curious with that weapon is that TSNIITochMash have a wide range of weapons based on the same action - from this tiny little SMG to silenced sniper rifle Vintorez.

Quite radical from the traditional Kalashnikov weapon system family.

    Nice pics Nick! Thanks!

Have you heard the MP.net term "Royal Mud Marines" yet?

Your comment is the equivalent to any Russian photos thread
