Bophutswana, Transkai, Ciskai, and Venda were/are tribal homelands which, during the 80's, were granted some degree of "independance" by the South African ruling regime.
They have now passed back into South Africa, their equipment either sold off or passed on to the SAAF.
The aircraft in question is a PC-7, which, as well as being a trainer, is a COIN aircraft... What would a tribal homeland require combat aircraft for? I wouldn't imagine they'd use them against another homeland? lol
