Storm they were just a waste of money, they never did anything. they never took part in any aid operation. one is just inperative and only gets turned on every 2 months, one was lost. a lousy record.
Well I heard they took part in disaster relief missions in Mexico back in before that crash. Like I said before; they should've bought more then two to have a effective fleet.

Default Mexico's Firepower will only last 12 days

-In war it would only take 12 days for our armed forces to run out of munitions
-We only have 45 air-to-air missiles probably the sidewinders
-Here it is in spanish so you can understand better

In combat, the Army weapons reach only 12 days: Sedena
If the Mexican Army to enter into battle with just over 150 thousand weapons and their 331.3 million cartridges against any internal or external enemy, his fire power on average to reach only 12 days of continuous fighting, point estimates of the General Staff of the National Defense

If the Mexican Army to enter into battle with just over 150 thousand weapons and their 331.3 million cartridges against any internal or external enemy, his fire power on average to reach only 12 days of continuous fighting, point estimates of the Defense Staff Nacional (Emaden) produced by each of the weapons the Army and Air Force.

According to forecasts, the fire artillery obuseros (guns) reached 105 millimeters, for example, to fight only for 5.5 days of continuous firing 15 shells for the gun.

Armored units, according to the analysis, 662 are 2 thousand 75 mm grenades. Going into combat, armored troops spent cartridges in all nine days.

As for the Air Force, noted that there are just over 1.7 million rounds of 7.62 mm caliber who are employed by aircraft PC-7 and PC-9 and the Bell 212 and MD-530.

In a conflict, 1.7 million of these cartridges are depleted in five days of air fire, according to calculations Sedena.

The unit warned that the 594 night-vision equipment and 95 thousand 3 GPS used by special forces to fight the drug cartels, "already served his time of service."

Weaknesses and attrition in the ranks of the Army and Air Force are visible and reach levels almost unimaginable in all operational areas of the institution.

Analysis of National Defense said that the goal of night vision and GPS are between five and 13 years old, and already served their time of service. " The same goes for the "150 thousand 392 helmets antifragmento" using the troops. 70% kept his life in 2008, and 41 thousand 160 flak jackets will do so in 2009.

The paper Sedena gaps concerning the military industry that can manufacture 10 thousand different weapons a year

As for the ammunition for the Air Force, said that there is capacity to produce 15 million rounds, "equivalent to 98% of annual requirements."

They can also produce 182 thousand shells of various calibers, equivalent to 30% of the annual budget. "

In this scenario, the Air Force is the most beaten by technological backwardness and dependency to foreign, especially U.S. and Israel.

According Sedena, the arms caches of the Air Force has 753 bombs 250 to a thousand pounds each. The F-5 and Pilatus PC-7 used such weapons. 753 to reach the existing air-to-air combat for the day.

87 thousand 740 to 20 mm caliber grenade F-5 jets to fight to reach external or internal enemies by six days.

Finally, Sedena shows that air-to-air missiles for F-5, is only 45 pieces, which represent only a day of fire air.

That is really f**king pathetic. I also want to know how long the Mexican Navy and Marines supplies and equipment would last long if a war started.

So basically before the 12 days are up. we should start stockpiling, sticks, stones and slingshots, that's pretty much what we'll have left to defend the country with.

Why doesn't SEDENA stockpile all the weaponry and ammo (still in good contition) confiscated from the narco-piojosos, we never know, some day we might need some extra guns, instead of destroying them in front of dumb-ass politicians so they can take a picture.

I think General Galvan should put A LOT of pressure on those numbnut politicians about the state our armed forces are and that WE NEED upgrades on equipment YA!!!

with the seizure of all the arms and ammunition, can some of this be used by the military or can the police use them?

I guess it can be used for good but OTOH.

Most of those weapons have been used to murder people, and I don't think it's a good idea to put those weapons back in circulation.

But "clean" weapons could be stockpiled or given to police forces.

Sad that we cant defend the country past 12 days. I hope this becomes known world wide. Hopefully this will embarass the hell out of the senate and congress. To show how poorly prepared the Mexican Armed Forces are even for basic equipment for soldiers.

i bet civilians in the US have more ammo and guns than the Mexican goverment stock piled.

Are there any new classes of ships being planed to be built by the Mexican Navy. I know there planning to build six more OPV for the Navy. But as far as i know 2 of them will be oxaca class. But i dont know about the other 4 ships cause there were only planned to build 4 of every ship class of opv in operation right now.

Does any one know if they will add more ships to the other class such as the Sierra or Durango class.

The only thing I heard that they are building two more Oaxaca class offshore patrol vessels while the Bolum project is still on the back burner because the navy wants to focus on anti-drug operations right now. There are no plans to build anymore Sierra or Durango class OPV's in the foreseeable future.
