    I had not heard of these before. Are they like a reserve police force or more aligned with the military? It looks like I see at least one of them is carrying a long gun, so Im assuming they are armed. Any more info on these guys?

    They are a volunteer paramilitary force that depends from the Army. They use a 7.62 cal single action rifle and a sidearm of their choice. There main mission is to keep order in rural areas where there is no police forces, and also provide intelligence to the army regarding drug trafficking activity.

    Bad news: The Presidential Guard's CENTINELAS Football team lost 49-12 yesterday to PUMAS from the UNAM university team.

    • Uno de ellos es José María Sánchez, de 76 años.
    • Su familia posee casas de cambio en la ciudad de Tijuana.
    • En el secuestro han resultado heridos otros dos adultos.

    Dos ciudadanos españoles residentes en Estados Unidos han sido secuestrados en el Estado mexicano de Baja California, según informó este lunes la Policía local. De momento sólo se conoce el nombre de uno de ellos: José María Sánchez, de 76 años, cuya familia posee casas de cambio en la ciudad de Tijuana.
    El secuestro ha tenido lugar en la localidad de Playas de Rosarito. Las víctimas viajaban a bordo de una camioneta acompañadas de otros dos adultos y tres menores, todos con residencia en el vecino Estado de California (EE UU).
    Según el jefe de la Policía local, Alfredo Pérez, eran perseguidos por varios vehículos conducidos por hombres armados. "Cuando se percataron de que eran perseguidos, intentaron entrar al poblado de Puerto Nuevo para pedir auxilio, pero fueron atacados a balazos frente a los turistas".
    En el secuestro resultaron heridos los otros adultos y, tras dar parte a las autoridades, fueron escoltados a territorio estadounidense junto con los menores.

    Damn, i used to visit the Rosarito beach 4 years ago, too bad this things happen...i think violence is generalized actually all over the country, goverment should act with prudence

    Too bad this things are happening, although it was predictable , we can't expect any changes on security efficiency until the PRI municipal administration ends. In the federal level, it has been well. I mean w major achievements, the biggest decommission of cocaine and money in this presidential administration.

    does any one have any inklink to how many fighters the air force may buy of the f-16 and what possible model.
