I can't really see mexico needing them in a near/medium future. Better use that money in something more NOW such as Long range patrols (P-3) and Heavy/transport choppers such as CH-53.

Well the Mexican Navy was post to get the 3 P-3 Orion back in 2001 but the deal was canceled in 2002 along with 14 SH-2 Seasprites. But I heard their planning to get more CH-53s, but I don't if they were getting from the United States or Israel. But Mexico needs some new military equipment to replace some of their outdated equipment.

We allready have 3 CH-53 yas´or in the airforce from israel to replace outdated russian helos. Navy do have some modernized CASA´s to do lrp, quiet effective working with the couple e-2 they have.

Humvees come to replace outdated transports and to privode a lot more movility to our troops.
Gothjod is right on spot, we are replacing material in urgent need to be replaced, transports, helos, vehicles, assault rifles.

We certainly don´t have the need to replace ifv or apc or jet fighters right now, needs in that departament calls for trainers with coin capabilities.

Well I know they got 4 CH-53s and I do Mexico needs some jet trainers with attack capabilty to replace the AT-33s. But after see these weapons what the drug lords got, they should get some APCs and IFVs. But what happen to M-113s that were post to get from the U.S.

Tnx it was 4 not three.

In a nutshell we don´t need jet trainers exactly man, we need turboprop trainers for they are easy to operate, easy to mantain, and lot cheaper than jets. You must think in coin role, where a jet is too much a tool for such a job. Turboprops are perfect for such task in cost benefit. That is why jets are not needed, and haven´t been needed in 25 years.

We all ready have apc and ifv, and they haven´t been knocked out by narcs or guerrillas. And it wouldn´t matter if we got newest apc or ifv, with some of the at weapons captured those vehicles would be history anyway.

So you don´t spend hundreds of millions just for a posibility, it´s not reasoble. There is not need then, no expense.

Yesterday, '' El mata policias'' (Cop Killer), considered of great importance in the Arellano Felix Cartel was arrested along with other members as part of the ''Operation Tijuana'' during a raid by the PFP.

    Official report

Great, I hope he gets a sentence that will guarantee that he rots in a Maximum security jail Mexico and then gets extradited so that he can receive another like sentence in the US. I would not like to be in that poor mofo's shoes. Score one for the good guys.
