Well, never heard about it. But in early after war LWP used many different helmets beacuse of not enough quantity of russian helmets and then polish wz.50. A lot of czech vz.32 helmet and WW2 italian (don't know the pattern) was in service.I think Adrians were also reused by a branch of the post-war army or the police. Painted black with a large uncrowned white eagle on it.
Got few new pics:
Two major camos and a winter one ... LWP - 50's:
This one is an example, as my friend told me, of an typical style in "6 Brygada Desantowo Szturmowa" (6th Airborne Assault Brigade - hope it's a good translation): a custom camo made of camouflage painted chute taken from D5 polish parachute. In his opinion this behaviour was a standard and many soldiers have been doing such a custom camo's from chutes.
And the final one for today - a group of fully equipped polish soldiers carrying mortar gear. They all wears old pattern of uniforms - i think that those are wz.48's. They also have wz.33/50 bacpack's:

By the way - could anyone post some more east german army pics ? Specialy those from early 50's ? I am very very curious about their gear. Were they using some ex-WH stuff like mauser rifles or german helmets ? Or were they rearmed in russian gear imeaditly as east german army was formed. What NVA means ? Nationale Volks Armee ?
There was a thread specifically on east german army

Did you know?
(I apologise if this has already been stated!)
That the Stahlhelm Model 56, the distinctive NVA (East German Army) helmet was actually a 1944 prototype rejected by Hitler, who did not want to give up the more traditional design even though the proposed design offered more protection.
Stahlhelm Model 56 ? Never heard about it ... got any pics ?
Another one - mrs. lieutenant of LWP (i think only dressed to photo) - middle of 50's

Ufff i was thinking that maybe you call this helmet (on pic below - two guys near banner) Stahhelm 56 - it looks like WW2 stahlhelm M35 or M42:
New polish army pic: three corporals near ex-german panzerturm somwhere in western Poland in 50/60's. First from right carries Tokaryev TT pistol.
