If there are any current or former members of the Canadian Forces here, and I know there are, could you please shoot me a PM, I have a few questions. Thanks.

So I'm nearing graduation which means I need to start seriously considering what I want to do when I'm done with school. Right now I'm looking at the Air Force and debating between 3V0X1 Visual Information and 1A7X1 Aerial Gunner. The visual information job would be cool since graphic art is the field I want to work in when I'm out, but aerial gunner sounds crazy and intense and would be one hell of an experience. Would it be wiser to go with Visual Information?
no. as far as I know, they don't even try.
just because you haven't had an attack in 9 years doesn't mean you won't. If the pft is good, you know you're good. if not... well, at least you know.
very good. it is a percentile score - means you theoretically outscored 89 percent of those who have taken the ASVAB.
I had a 99, btw.![]()
Gents, is there anyone here on Mp.net I can ask about Marine Armor?
Well, I'm doing it. I just sent in my application to join the Canadian Forces. So it begins.
Passed my NZ Army recruit aptitude testing today. Got told I did too well for the trade I chose (Field Engineer), so I'll be swapping to Systems Engineer. Start my AARC in about 3 months. Really looking foward to it!![]()
I was wondering, on average, how many people complete the training? How many "make it"?
Thinking about making a deferred entry. Some people say I'm aiming too high, but I'm very passionate about this.

Assuming you're referring to the USMC
Boot camp isnt the problem. If you've got tough skin and can deal with someone screaming in your face for three months you'll be fine. Every person who really wants to make it through will, so long as they are not seriously injured. I cant speak to other MOS but if you go active duty infantry, boot camp will be a joke to some of the crap you'll go through down the road.
pm me if ya got specific questions
Thanks.
Yes, I think I understand.
I'm going there on wednesday. My question is, I heard they check your joints by making you do the duck walk etc. What exactly would disqualify you? Because my knee cracks sometimes, but its not because of any joint problem or arthritis. It just cracks for no reason and it doesn't hurt and my physician told me it was just the air escaping from the tendons or something. Would this disqualify me?
If you don't have a problem duck walking you'll be fine.
