I know a guy with a Masters degree that was making 6 figures a year and just up and decided to join the Marines as an enlisted man one day after 9/11. He served his enlistment, became a swim instructor etc. and then went back to being a civilian.

I witnessed a similar moment in Boot Camp when a recruit from my platoon staired at a DI from a sister platoon. Mind you this was back in 1991.

DI: Why you eyeballing me recruit!? You think I'm pretty!?
    Recruit Avalar: No Sir!
    DI: WHAT!!?? So I'm ugly!?
    Recruit Avalar: No Sir!
DI: Oh Really!? So you can't make up yo mind if I'm ugly or pretty!?

My advice: "This recruit believes that the Drill Instructor appears to look squared away in his service Charlies, Sir!"

So all week the recruiters have been trying to shove the MOS 35P on me, but I wanted 35M and they kept trying to pressure me into 35P. Well, they told me 35M didn't come up and I told them I would keep waiting till it did and they told me 35P came up and asked me if I wanted it. I told them no, I wanted 35M. They call me back about an hour later and tell me that I don't qualify for 35M because of two possession of tobacco tickets I got when I was 16. Which all right, I can accept that and believe that as ridiculous as it is... What I don't get is that I still qualify for 35P, the job they've been trying to pressure me into for a week now. How can I be disqual'd for one intelligence job because of a tobacco ticket, but still qualify for another intelligence job?

    I am smelling bull****.
