Guys, you realize this is a check in for actual new recruits... People who are joining the Military, not people new to the forum.
Anyways, I swore in yesterday, I got denied a security clearance for 35P and ended up with 12B Combat Engineer instead. I leave on the 18th of September for Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

With physical activity aside, I would also recommend you start memorizing the Ranks, General Orders, the 7 Core Values, Soldier's Creed, etc like the uniform regulations, just so you will have a much easier time on your Basic.
Hm. I don't know the extent of what you did/did not do, but there are only a handful of things that automatically disqualify you. Was this what the recruiter told you, because as far as I remember, they have absolutely no say in determining clearance eligibility.
Yup.
At MEPS is where they told me this... I didn't even get to the security interview, they denied me the job right off the bat because I had a MIP for tobacco possession and it's more than a minor traffic violation.
I am apparently a hardened criminal who is going to sell secrets to the Russians because I smoked cigarettes when I was 15.
Not sure if there are many USAF people in here....i am currently studying for the ASVAB and getting prepared physically as well as mentally for AF BMT. I don't know what specific AFSC i want but i am leaning towards Security Forces...recruiter said there is a slot open for that job. I want to be Cop when i get out and i think that Security Forces will look good on my resume. I will also be studying Criminal Justice while in the AF so when i am discharged i will have a degree as well. Hopefully i get accepted...if not, i am going to try the Army and go 31Bravo. good luck to all other recruits!
Thanks you for stepping up to the plate. Welcome on board.
Hi Everyone....
Student from Defence Dept came here to learn and share stuffs... Hope to have good time
Hello MP.Net..I am going to be enlisting in the Military soon and i was wondering what branch i should join. I know there are alot of service members on here so hopefully i can get your input. I want to be a Cop when i get out of the military and i was wondering which of these two i should pick that would best transfer into the civilian world...Army MP or Air Force Security Forces? I have already graduated HS and now i am just studying for the ASVAB and getting prepared physically as well. Now i know Military LE and State-side LE are different but i really want to serve before i join a police force. I think having military under my belt would help me in the long run. So what route do you think would be best for me? Thank you all in advance for any advice. It'll be greatly appreciated. (I wasn't sure what section to post this under...hope i got it right. If not, mods please move. Thank you.)
