Gents, im running out of options, and i thought i would ask in this thread.
Im in a bit of a pickle right now, i got a PFT sceduled on Tuesday at the San Antonio substation(of the Austin Marine OSO). I have no idea what the streets are like, therefore no idea how to get to the substation. Did a Google Maps search and there were several "recruiting" stations marked.

The problem i have is my recruiters office in SA, (and the OSO office in Austin) are off for the weekend, and im assuming they are also off for Labor day. Which leaves the morning of the PFT(which begins at 0800) to find the office.
could anyone please point me in the right direction?

Quick question. Army split option for National Guard? What do you do during senior year? Originally I planned on enlisting at 17, but decided I want to knock a bachelor's out as well. So, is this route doable? Split Option, College/NG, graduate, reevaluate my life and most likely go active?
Your best bet would be to talk to a recruiter.
Thanks for the replies. I don't have too much time, though. I'm nearly 16, and this all needs to be cleared up before age 17 so I can get a slot to do Basic that summer. Of course I'm going to talk to a recruiter about it all, but in the meantime need the advice if it's a doable path, and if split option has worked for anyone on here. All the branches have careers that interest me, most of them enlisted. But for going to college and doing service at the same time, Army NG looks like my best bet.
How does it compare to Marine and Navy Reserves(Infantry units, LAR to be specific, are near the schools I'm interested in, either as a Marine or Corpsman. On the other hand, for Army NG there is a LRS unit I would want in.)? I noticed that Marine Reserves have to do 6 x 2(6 years active reserve, 2 years inactive reserve) to get the GI Bill, is it the same for the NG? I would prefer 4 x 4, so right after college I can pick my whatever branch most interests me after getting a bachelors. Last question. What is drill like for a pre-basic, Jangles? Thanks all, just need some insight.
hi ,i am a new one here!
hi every1, im from belgium
Welcome to the forum, but this is a thread for people considering military service to ask questions or those of us waiting to ship out.
So today I was told what my MOS was (Marines). I believe they said "field radio operator" (exact words) which would be very cool with me. The MOS is 0621 btw (I looked it up). But on further research, is that accurate? Doesnt my recruiter just give me an MOS field or can they actually give me a specific MOS?
