Especially when you find out how much of a signing bonus you didn't get.

    My MEPS experience:

Army Poolie "I got $10,000 for enlisting as artillery. You're going to the Marines right? How much did you get?"

Me: "You got money for just signing up?! I got a red Marine Corps t-shirt."

A buddy of mine just got 30K in bonuses, got the job he wanted, and is shipping in fourth months. Hes Army.

I had to go through hell to get the mos I wanted(0311, Reserves), I'm pretty sure I'm getting no bonus, and I ship in 2342342345 months. Kill babies.

I was told we have to wear slacks and a button down shirt when i went.

I assume your going through the PLC route?
My OSO didn't tell me anything except that they're putting me up in a hotel for the night and its going to be a long day....and yes I am going the PLC route

Yeah, all we got was a poolee shirt (sizes all jacked up, of course) and that silver box of info/knowledge and some Marine Corps stickers.

Army enlistees were bragging about their bonuses and talkin' big: "Im going special forces, the Army is leader. Marines follow".

    Yeah, OK fatty.

Sounds familiar and all the Army poolies already had ACU packs and what not.

    I agree.

When I enlisted, they gave me the same stuff, only in black and gold. They are still in my closet somewhere collecting dust.

    If you have not checked,
    http://www.marineocs.com/portal/index.php

an online forum full of wannabees, fresh O's,and other Marines stuffed with up to date info regarding many things concerning Marine Officers. Dont be surprised if your OSO is on (or so ive heard) as a member of the forum.

Not sure on that one (concerning medium reg cuts) but your right about as motard as you can get.

Negative on any other regs but a "high & tight" for OCS. If you notice on the photo, you are also required to wear polo shirt with slacks (casual business attire) and shoes for final formation prior to weekend Libo. It's far worse on a 3 year duty with the Imperial Guard at "8th & I".
