Oh, I forgot to ask. How you solved the battery problem? I can't see AN/PEQ or Crane-stock.

You can fit a standard mini or 'nunchuck' type batery inside the normal sliding stock with minimal effort...

Why pose in an Osprey BA with temperate smock, there are currently no plans to issue Osprey for use other than in Afg/Iraq, so this combination shouldn't normally be seen together as all troops are now issued desert smocks. Such a combination does appear to be worn by some specialist units such as the OMLTs etc., - presumably you fancy yourself as such?

BTW that is not an issue ammo pouch.

Actually...it is, or atleast the tag would lead me to believe so. I'll get a picture of that after work. As for my smock, I was already wearing it when I got home today, so closest thing at hand.

The surplus dealers and Chinese/Indian manufacturers are well aware of this and usually put correct looking labels on all of their products.

I assume that what you have is the triple pouch shown below (extreme left) obtained at a guess from ebay. The official issue Osprey system ammo pouches are singles, with a totally different closure as show in the pix below (2nd left - right) I haven't seen any official issue pouches with that type of closure. The two pix on the right are offical British Army images.

Many British troops purchase independently made pouches as these often offer better size/feature combinations than those issued.

Just because an item of supposedly British kit has an official looking label, doesn't make it official issue any more than wearing insignia to which you are not entitled makes you a real soldier!
