It seems as though people will never learn about the sour topic of wearing **** you shouldn't, because you never earned it to begin with. It seems those posing stickies have no purpose because ZERO new members ever read them.

There needs to be a "prompt" that everytime you click on the Reenactment / Airsoft / Paintball section, that you agree to the terms that you will not post any pictures with insignia that you haven't EARNED. I'm sure there is a way that can be done, so it's in people's faces all the time directly, including all the newcomers. It will save all the heartache and anger that gets produced from all the walting and buggery.

On this forum DO NOT wear what you have not earned. Read the stickies in this section on posing. This is a non-discussable. It is a topic that we have been through many times, that is why there is the sticky on it.
This is finishing argument - i can;t discuss with this.

To p_unit_ghetto: i will not talk with you. You show enough about your way of threating other persons (my nationality) and i think you must apologize in this situation.

For calm down in this situation, another photo (without any badges or insignia):

How exactly do the British forces wear their trousers with the boots? this has always baffled me

do they blouse them, tie them over the top of the boot, or what?

    We do both.
I personally just tie the bottom of the trousers off just above the top of the boot and let the trousers naturally drape over the ties so it doesnt show. Some people use "trouser elastics" - little lengths of elastic cord to achieve the same thing - it looks smarter and I do that when I'm on parade.

Thanks to you both, this cleared up my confusion.

One more question though: As I noted in some photos, it doesn't look like the troops tied or bloused their trouser bottoms at all, just letting them drape over their boot as one would have their jeans cover their shoes when in civilian attire.

Is this generally more acceptable when out on exercise or within an area of combat operations?

    Interesting photo:

    Here

It's of UK soldiers during a training exercise. The troops are wearing American BDU's with British PLCE... can anyone explain why they'd be wearing US field clothing and on their own training grounds? Are they possibly Special Forces?

Trousers should normally be tied off in some fashion - helps stop creepy crawlies from runnig up the leg. However, during operations such things can get a little secondary to whats going on around you. Also, I have been issued trousers with very long legs, and the end result looked like I was wearing it just draped over the boot.

I cant see that photo btw.

There are a variety of reasons why you'll find a soldier in US BDU's and brit webbing. It could be US soldiers being hosted by a British unit and being given UK weapons and PLCE ( saves them dragging all that stuff over with them on a commercial flight where there are restrictions on firearms, weight etc ). Ditto for countries that use copies of US BDU's eg Dutch Marines who incidentally use PLCE. It might also be UK troops playing OPFOR - although we tend to use desert DPM when playing OPFOR.
SF have used US BDU's but they are camera shy and I've only ever seen them in US 3 colour desert or a desert Tigerstripe when they werent in DPM.
