- to be fair, TA pay has always been taxed since the yeard dot. Not getting taxed while regs do wouldnt go down well with the regs. Fair play to the Aussies tho.
It's not something the regs seriously grumble about, it's a recruiting tool.
Do regs get additional pay over and above reservists in Oz OOI ?
The reservist pay rate is a daily one, if they worked every day in the year they'd get the same as what a reg would make. But regs get about $10000 service allowance and reservists get $10 a day service allowance. So most would only get 5% to 10% of the service allowance that a reg would get.
I don'tI still get income taxed on my army pay, so nuts to you!
(although, when I get paid finally that might actually change!)
