    Default Helmet ID Required - Punisher logo

    I saw on SBS news some footage I'd never seen on the Haifa St battle. There was a super quick shot, maybe about 3 seconds, of the back of two soldiers heads.

    There were wearing glossy black helmets, with The Punisher death head in white on the back. The icon was identical on both their helmets.


    Struck my curiosity, so I wonder if anyone has any input into who they might be? Both from the type of helmet it was, and the unit the men might be from (related to the Punisher icon).


    For those not sure, this is the Punisher (he's a comic book character), and the deaths head logo in question..

    they could have been Americans, a lot of American SOF's guys use the punishers skull, and now some of the Iraqis do as well, what the helmet type was is anyones guess, unless I saw it, it could be anything, sorry

    WAM, glossy black!, my guess is Iraqi, Americans probably wouldn't be wearing gloss black, too high vis....shiny

    Hey astro, this blokes unit used to spray that logo everywhere, dont think they ran around in black helmets though.

    Hmmm ok. Thanks.

    I saw another snippet on SBS just now, though a side angle. The glimpse looks like a full face motorcycle helmet (yet not).

    If any of you aussie blokes are watching SBS tonight / tomorrow keep an eye on the news reports for me

    I think I know the helmet, Polish SOF's wear them.

    Yes possibly! Are they GROM? I'm scouring the SBS online newsfeeds from this evening at the moment; hopefully I'll have an answer soon. I'm sure they mentioned 'haifa st' in the footage, though maybe it was just some kind of cross reference (unless Polish SOF are in Iraq?).

    Nope, not GROM. GROM uses M4s, not Beryl. Probarly regular units or PSK.

    This is GROM in Iraq (notice the M4s and US gear):






    And the only Polish SOF in Iraq is 1st Commando Reg. from Lubliniec.
    Notice no M4s, only costumized Beryls

    Ok just saw them again on the news; it's not a full-face helmet as I thought, and they look VERY close to the '1PSK' operators mentioned above (1PSK = Polish, I assume?). Couldn't make out any weapons.

    The shots are definitely from Haifa St. (during the day), and they're clustered with about 3 or 4 other soldiers on a rooftop.

    Note: the online SBS footage is filtered of Haifa St video which is why I can't post any images.


    edit: *laugh!* More confusion - yet another tiny clip SBS showed DOES show a full face helmet! Surely *someone* out there must know the story.

    Just watched SBS, yep there at the beginning of the haifa st battle, tried to find the video from Dronetek collection but hey i couldnt find it. They look a liitle like the Delta / seal helmets. cool emblem.

    Ravage the pic I posted is GROM in A-stan, and you can see custom beryl there also. 1PSK never were in Afghanistan AFAIK.

    But fullface helmet?
