laser guided bombs and no laser designator?
Laser designator ("Damocles" pod) will come later this year.
Until then, Rafale will need a third-party designation (Mirage, Etendard, other planes, or troops on ground).
Xav, I don't think the SEM use the Damocles pod but the ATLIS, am I wrong ?
http://www.vectorsite.net/aveten.htmlAll SEMs were up to Standard 4 by the end of 2002, with the "Standard 5" introduced the next year. Standard 5 was intended to provide a "night attack" capability, built around the new Damocles targeting pod. The Damocles not only uses an infrared imager, permitting night operations, but also has higher image resolution, permitting greater standoff range.
According to the above source standard 5 was introduced in 2003...
My mistake Xav, SEM standard 5 use Damocles Pod

I would so love to see this plane in the Serbian Air Force....
does anybody know its price, compared to a Mig-29 (newer/st version), Su-30/35. F-16 52+, Gripen, EF...?
