so how do you explain that some vests have s95 panels and some dont with no evidence of removal?

some guys on my team own them without the s95 panels in the hip areas. i have had these in my hands, so i am telling you now, they were most definately made.

i also do not make false statements. the post was made by my own personal experiences with mehler st. i do not lie

Simple, Soldiers customization. 4 years ago our team bought some st vest covers in diferent conditions. Some without backpacks, G36 pouches, side panels, etc... I've to find some pics of them.

    @vitek

you may have had some mehler vest that have been customized by soldiers, but i told you i speak from experience with them.

    *takes a deep breath*

i shall reiterate. mehler st's WERE issued without s95 side panels. like i said, 2 of my team mates own mehler st's with absolutely no evidence of any panel ever being there in the first place. and to add to this, i have also sought advice from a team mate who is currently writing a book on military body armour, who has also published many other books on similar military topics, and who is complete agreement with me.

just because you have not had that issue of st, does not mean that they do not exist.

why would i make that up?

    @ossg

    cheers mate.

i noticed the work you did to your g36k..............GREAT JOB!!!!!!!

looks very smart, just wish i had the time and patience you do

Thnx man, glad you liked it!
Im looking for a helmet right now, then I will start posting som pics of my gear.

    About the Mehler,
I also own a Mehler ST without any signs of lousy sidepanels.
Also I was informed that the operator before me had cut the straps on the back, that was the only mod done.

    what helmet are you getting?

the strap being cut is quite a common mod i would expect seeing as they can get caught up.

thanks for the back up there ossg because arrogance causes my blood to boil

also looking forward to seeing your pics!

    A 826 and also a protec.
Its confirmed that they sometimes buy the protec them self for protection, but also that CPT are issued them now.

But I dont know which one they are using, yhe RS guys that I was in contac with are now out working in the field.
I like the B2 model but I know that the "Ace Wake" are popular.
The thing is that I dont know if they are using the B2, if so - thats the one Ill buy!

I will also use it RS as a K9-handler so I realy need the Protec.

    Cheers

    protec military version

i have tried several times to get one of these and been told every time that they are waiting on an order to come through as they are only made for the army (i believe)

one of my team mates managed to buy 1 over a year ago (i think he got lucky)

i bought the protec mercenary which is similar, but doesnt have the ris mount or the same 4 point chin strap. it is the under chin strap, but is quite comfortable as it has good padding under the neck.

the military protec chin strap has alot of freedom to move making it not strong enough to hold nvg's in place if that what you want to use with it.

if you do want to use nvg's with it, i would strongly recommend buying a MICH/ACH chin strap to replace the other. these are quite strong.

the 826 is an excellent helmet!

From what the RS operators have told me about feldjäger, they do have access to it.
Often by personal buyings, but as it seams, the CPT guys have it issued today in A-stan.

    As from what I understand:
KSK use protec to, the fullcut do I think have been posted here on the MP.net. The KSK guys on the airfield with G36 "DMR".

Also in the book Die Spezialverbände, Fallschirmjäger DSO and the Einsatzkräfte Marine is seen using the Protec.
The Marine guys using Protec Ace.

i heard the ksk us protec but i didnt assume they did cos i havent actually seen it for definate. i have seen a few pics of the Spezialverbände with the halfcut. i wasnt entirely sure that the airfield guys were ksk tbh, but dont know. protec ace is similar to mine as theyre both halfcut.

would be good to see some other pics of ksk with protecs
