The Fernspäher from FSLK 200 are using the G36KA2, although there are older pictures from training that show them with the G36(A1). For Fernspäher from KSK, the carbine would be the G36KA1 as with the rest of KSK.

The german name for the pathfinder platoons is "Fallschirmspezialzug", they are attached to the 1st company of each of the 4 para battalions.

You are from now on my god!

Ok so lets wrap this geardo problem up.....
If we skip the Mehler vest and only se to the smock, the ATXS and the G36A2 (no other gear).
What about a LRRP under the DSO organisation?
Perhaps a recon unit from the Falschirmjäger or Fernspäher?
Ive seen falschirmjäger with the G36A2 and as a LRRP they can use the ATXS to a heavy backpack.....

Would it be a good impression?
Sry for asking these details, but in respekt to the units we want to make it right.

There are no dedicated LRRP units in the DSO (or the rest of the Bundeswehr) apart from the FSLK 200 and parts of the KSK.

Perhaps a recon unit from the Falschirmjäger or Fernspäher?
The closest thing that comes to a (dismounted) recon capability among the Fallschirmjäger are their Fallschirmspezialzüge. After all, a pathfinders main job is to do recon on landing sites prior to an airborne operation.
And to get the second part of your question straight - the Fernspäher are long range recon personnel, so asking for a recon unit that is part of the Fernspäher sounds a bit strange.

I think it would look good and isn't as overdone as other impressions. And you could always drop by at www.battle-display.de and ask what everyone there thinks of the idea.

    Really no problem.

I appreciate people actually asking questions instead of buying random gear and then posting their "Check out my new KSK gear!!!1!11"-pictures, so I'm glad if I can stop that from happening.

Since you like it when people ask

Could you give me a quick rundown on the differences between G36A1 and A2?
And for that matter, the K versions as well.
Is it just that the carryhandle has a rail instead of the integrated red-dot?

    Also, this G36:

    What would its designation be?

It's the one that resembles my Airsoft G36 the closest, except that I've got an EOTech instead of the M4 aimpoint.

The G36A1 is basically the same as the original G36 model except for some internal changes in the trigger group.

The G36A2 is an G36A1 with an Hensoldt RSA (Zeiss Z-Point) mounted on a picatinny rail instead of the integrated red dot sight of the G36(A1). Also, this rifle is supposed to be equipped with a new handguard with three picatinny rails (bottom and sides) for a vertical handgrip and the LLM laser/flashlight but not all G36A2 have that one (yet?).

The original G36K had the same dual optics and longer stock (compared to the G36C) as the G36 and the old style handguard that still allowed to mount a bipod, again like on the G36. This was used by the KSK from their foundation in the mid 90s (and maybe by the B1 companies before) until around 2000.

The G36KA1 has a mid-height aluminium instead of the scope/red dot combination. As handgaurd, usually KAC's RAS is installed, but both the old and new style handguards are also possible. The stock is the same as found on the G36C (shorter, look for the cut-out in the stiffener next to the recoil pad). As sights, this usually has an EOTech 552 and flip-up iron sights installed, but other optics are used as well. The Kampfschwimmer use an Aimpoint M2 (?) with rubber cover due to its better water resistance, the KSK also uses different S&B scopes or the Elcan Specter DR.
This rifle is in use with the KSK, the Kampfschwimmer and some Feldjäger units.

The G36KA2 has the thinner, new-style handguard with optional picatinny rails and another rail instead of the integrated red dot sight, usually an EOTech 552 is mounted there. The stock is full length.
It has been in use by the KSK and Kampfschwimmer around 2001-2002, but seems to have been replaced by the G36KA1 very quickly there and is now used by the Fernspäher and in limited numbers by the Fallschirmjäger and the SEK-M boarding teams.

how many pattern variations are there of woodland fleck, and which pattern does the Bundeswehr currently use?

I've got a pair each of '97-issue and '98-issue trousers and the patterns are different.

just wondering, and thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

    Hi Red-Fern!

What do you mean with different 5 colour FT-patterns?

I just know two differend typs of the field dress ...
"normal" type 5farb FT with zipper on the Jacket and bottums and zipper on the trousers to show the little man the big world
Normally with dots from light oliv to dark green/black and red-brown for the MET. This differ by the firm witch produce the material, then the tailor cut it out and so normally no two uniforms are the same

the second type of 5farb FT is the so called "TropenTarn heiß feucht" (tropicaltan for hot and damp). The cut is nearly the same ecept that you have on the Bluse no zipper and below the arms is a net, and in the trousers are little holes between your legs vor better aircondition .
The material is a bit thinner than the MET-fatigue and the red-brown is missing in the tan colours.

    Hope this help!

Apart from the difference between tropical and regular Flecktarn, there has also been a change in the regular Flecktarn a few years ago that resulted in overall duller and less contrasting colours pretty similar to what the tropical uniforms look.

Search for "Kampfmesser 2000", that's the knife in the pic.
