Formation Composition and Disposition
A division is the second highest level of operational formation in the Malaysian Army. It has a strength of between 12-15 thousand personnel and usually commanded by a Major General. Each of the 4 divisions comprise of 2-3 brigades, a few artillery regiments and various division-level support units. All the artillery regiments of each division is under the command of a Division Artillery Headquarter (Markas Artileri Divisyen). Each brigade comprises of 2-4 combat battalions, may include a couple of armored regiments, a couple of 500-series Territorial Army (reserve) regiments, and various brigade-level support units. A brigade usually commanded by a Brigadier General.
