Default Advanced mods on military hardware

Malaysian military are particularly unique in my opinion. Their recent foreign military hardware acquisition had always been modified to the edge. Where budget restriction always hinders them from acquiring them in large quantities.

BAE Hawk 200 - Air interdiction and ground strike capabilities, long range deployment - these baby were originally an advanced jet trainer

Pt-91m tank - New engine, fire control system, slovak gun and comm system

Su-30 mkm - French, South African and Russian combination of avionics and warning sensors

Aside from the usual removal of israeli hardware, these mods slaps a hefty price tags on 'em. Anyone care to explain?

pic of PT91M arriving at Port Klang

Despite heavy snowstorms in Gdansk and despite Easter Holidays, the military equipments, consisting of 7 MBTs, ammunitions and machine guns, were loaded without delay onto chartered vessel’s lower deck at Gdansk en route for a 35-days journey to Port Klang via Suez Canal.

The 348tons/696 cbm shipment arrived on schedule at Port Klang and started to be discharged at 0800 hours. At 1700 hours, the entire shipment was loaded and ready to reach its final destination, 360kms south of Kuala Lumpur, while being escorted by a 100-strong army force.
