the forth badge : the cap badge for RAMD (as i recall in the annal history of RAMD) was the first design for 1st batch of askar melayu in 1933. it was called 'singa berjuang' then after merdeka RAMD got a new cap badge design. it was during 90's which? PAT (panglima Angkatan Tentera) Chief of the Armed Force change it back to the original design.

if i am not mistaken the designer was a 'mat salleh' (malay slang for westerner) CO of the the early RAMD by the name Colonel Bruce something. Need to check it back.

The Regiment's crest was designed with a pair of tigers, supporting an Oriental Crown. Within the circle of the crest are a kris and a scabbard with the Regimental motto "Ta'at Setia" written in Jawi, meaning "Loyal and True". Major G. McI. S. Bruce and Captain K. G. Exham, the founding officers of this Regiment, designed the crest.
Three colours were chosen- green (the Muslim colour), yellow (for Malay royalty) and red (for the British Army influence).

yes.. ta'at setia in jawi. thought i miss something. the history book of the Malay Regiment that i've read in the school library, when i was a student was like 4inch thick. it's a wonder what u can find in wikipedia these days.

as i recall, according to the official citation, the real date of activation for 1st Malay Regiment (not counting JMF or Malay Volunteers etc) aka 1st Experimental Company: was formed by the British on the 1st March 1933 at port ****son. 23rd November 1932 was never recognized as the Malay Regiment formation date.
