dear foxpaun,

i been following this thread for years but never written any comment before. so im here to share something on what you guys are discussing about NON-MALAY in forces issue. before that, im a non-bumi serving in armed force as an officer. trained in western country as cadet. i joined the service at young age, now im 24 yrs old.

i don't know much about the cadet police stuffs…well i can tell you about wataniah part. In short word, WATANIAH is a POLITICAL medium. (not the UMNO, PAKATAN politic) political within the forces. They have quota in wataniah (army), PSSTLDM (navy), PSSTUDM (air force). lets call them reserve forces, these reserve force will be recruited according to the quota(they will say there are no quota but there are!)
All the tri-service will only recruit you if you have something "extra" eg: sportsmans, dancers, singers(for god sake, this is real).

let me give you an example
Many of you know Nur Suryani, national shooter.(pls google of u don't know) she is a Lt in TLDM and she is a regular personnel (not the reserve forces type). She commissioned last year as sub-Lt and to surprise she was under medical(cannot run,do hard work but she goes for shooting training almost everyday..funny kan?) the whole year while she was trainee, eventually she commissioned as officer in ROYAL MALAYSIAN NAVY. WHY? because the navy needs her, she can make the navy proud when she win medals. so the reserve forces is one of the way to recruit personnel with something "extra" -there are A LOT them.

thank you so much to your info and warmest invitation. but in this moment im unable to join in any uniform service. after to my accident, i cant do hard sport and i have to stop my self defend training too.

so thats why. you applied for Skuadron-skuadron Semboyan Medan AW. This is a specialize battalion. they only take members who work in the Telekom Malaysia. This is why you are rejected..

My advice is try to apply again at this address. Good luck and please fix the attitude.

oh ic! then the Wataniah got real problem. if their specialize battalion as what u said, why in the time open house in sg besi base they invite us(public) to join this regiment? second, if they really like what u said, why when we fill in the application form they didnt tell us? why they didnt tell us when us toke interview and test every things? and why the officer call me back for re-apply again? the officer got attitude problem main-main with the ppl who want to join in wataniah? u r talking **** my fren...

1 year? Phew! Even in the armed forces, the selection of the officer took less than a month. After selection only then you will received the long term training according to your branch. Maybe about 1 year or more.

oic.but when d time in sch. we only train every monday, wednesday after sch(toke 3-4 hours) and saturday (toke 4-5 hours)
