source: http://forums.military.com/eve/forum.../m/25700666613July 25, 1974, two days before my 21st birthday and I was 6 months short. I was at Camp Pitman with the 2nd ACR guarding the Czech border. Jerry-rigged heater from an M-113 in an M-551 Sheridan. Heater caught fire and started cooking off ordnance inside the tank, with two NCO's sleeping on board. One escaped with minor burns, one I had to tackle and extinguish. The latter was 3rd degree burns over his entire body, but he survived.

It wasn't a conflict: it was a land grab. Don't try to re-write history.
