I see the IMBEL ones go for around $550. Wooden furniture for them are reasonable.

Imbels are not the same as the C1A1. Imbels are metric while C1A1's are imperial. They are a completely different rifle. In Canada C1A1's go for at least $1000 but you have to hold a 12.5 prohibited license.

I see them on a regular basis here in Houston. Go to gunbroker.com and gunsamerica.com. Since you live in Commiefornia I might want to check the legal issues first.

We have really generous gun laws up here in OR so it will be legal up here. I'm about 95% sure it would be illegal in commiefornia though.

EDIT: Looks like DSA makes some California legal FALs, so with some modification you might be able to make one legal.

The C1A1 also had the ability unlike, for example, the L1A1, to reload from chargers. Note the opening on the picture (top) above.

We used to jam a tooth pick or a wooden match in the firing mech to make it full auto......I mean fast firing semi!
