SOF Mag had a pretty good collection of SAS photos during the embassy siege including close-ups of the gear.
Just can't find my copy.![]()
In the blue t-sgirt thats Earl Filmore, he was KIA on oct. 3rd 1993.
TF-160th (the Blackhawk)
That was Earl Filmore in the pic? I never knew that...now I know what he looked like. I just remember from Bowden's book that a lot of the Rangers looked up to him because of his humor and skill.
As for the Bosnia-Herzegovina, I think those are DSS agents...unless I'm mistaken.
yes
Department of State Security of the Under Secretary of Defense Slocombe?
I think not.

Be aware that many of the supposed SAS images are actually from manufacturer demos and reconstructions- the ones featured above with the Mark 7 (?) Sterling shorties are most certainly fabricated for instance.
Great Somalia snap though Nevins- MP5A5s with Surefires?
yea, i think they might be Airforce PJ's. How long has Surefire been around?
yea, minus the RAS, looks like a custom Free Float tube, with bolt on rail segments.
The RAS MRE is becomeing increasingly popular with some high speed guys now.
Alleged to be the M113 carrying CAG and Kurt Muse from the crash sight in Operation Acid Gambit.

Pretty good disguise on the guy up front with the M4.
If he were standing around a block in that outfit he'd be mistaken for someone who worked in an office all his life.
Maybe those faces should be blacked out? Someone in CAG in the First Gulf War could very probably still be in CAG...
Caption: Hard Target Interdiction course conducted in 1996 at Yakima Washington. The target behind the class was engaged by .50 caliber rifle fire from a little over 1400 meters. Note the group size. Winds were 6-14 knots depending on the angle of attack on the targets. Temperature was 110 degrees at a little over 3000 ASL. Rifles are a mix of Barret M82A1 and SR-25 Suppressed guns.
I've seen this called CAG before (I'm skeptical, but you never know) so I'm posting it.
