    I guess, they are GSG-9.

They wear the old style BGS-BDU and the Fallschirmjäger-Helmet, I would say second half of the 1970ies.

The MP5 Lower receivers seem to be the newer synthetic type to me, I don't think they had those in production during the 70's.

A classic picture that for some unknown reason to me, seems to have a lot of personality shown in it.
To me, this and the other early pics of Delta, SAS, etc. are excellent illustrations about how people are far more important than gear when it comes to being a member of an elite unit.

The airsofters should have an "old school cool ass guy" look along with all of their other outfits.

It's all about looking geared up and sexy, with a tricked out super duper Colt carbine with every accessory hanging off it rather than Barbour jacket, jeans and muddy wellys carrying a G3 for that Northern Ireland farm OP look.

Well, the synthetic lower recievers would be a strong argument. But regarding the uniforms I am still not convinced taht this picture shows the SEK Sachsen. To me, the picture looks like taken from an old archive for the brochure. Why should SEK Sachsen start in the early 1990ies with badly outdated equipment? Even the post-war-produced Wehrmacht-Fallschirmjägerstahlhelme were very rare items in this time, if I remember it correctly.

Those pictures on that page are not only of SEK Sachsen.

    Look at this pictures:
    http://www.police-zone.de/sek-bilder/39.jpg

On the far right, that looks like the Schleswig-Holstein state-patch and not Sachsen.
