    Exclamation The Health/Fitness thread!

I thought this would be a good topic to discuss health and fitness. As i'm planning on starting a nice training regime to get me in shape for the summer, so perhaps others here can get some inspiration or add to this thread!

I'm going to get myself a punchbag in the next month to keep me active, and start hitting the weights again.

    So to begin...

Anybody use ankle, wrist weights? What are your experience with them?

Never used wrist or ankle weights.

Just hit the gym today for the first time in a while. Hit a mix of chest, back, and arms. I was training to run a relay next weekend but our team kind of fell apart so I don't have to worry about sticking to cardio.

Do not use them, as in they're bad for you.

Good ole timing Fee! I've just started marathon training today with a nice 10k run. It went well!!

What are you looking to get from your workouts fee?! If you're wanting to feel/look good when you're strutting your stuff in Blackpool or Skegness, do the natural ways of working out i.e running/cardiovascular work, sit ups, push ups, squats. No real need for the gym! You can used that save money from the gym to blow all your fitness away in the pub!!

ankle wieghts destroy your muscles in your legs dont they?

I'm hoping to tone up the body, and greatly increase my stamina/fitness.

Indeed, I've been running for years. I have only seen these getting used recently for running and was looking for some input from personal experience.

Do not use ankle or wrist weights. They can do alot of damage on your tendons and ligaments. Good to see this as a thread.

    Will this become a sticky?
