Congrats Hellfish!! It feels good to see your body transforming...
And im like Lanconian..not a big pill person. Be careful with those, they are rough on the heart, and are not a long term thing, so you shed lots of lbs. fast in the beginingg, but then once you stop taking them you can put the weight back on twice as fast...I say skip the pills..do it the natural way.
and another tip, we have a Health foods store/cafe right by my school, they serve freshly made wheatgrass juice...I swear by this stuff, gives you energy and a total wellness feeling....
Keep it up!!

You need to build up your lower back. Building your your legs, especially your hams and not keeping your low back in the same condition will make your back worse. The posterior chain (hams, glutes, low back, hips) is extremely important for athletic performance. Back extensions (off a roman chair or back hyper seat), good mornings done with proper form (locked lower back, spread the chest, pivot at the hips) with either a barbell dumbbell or kettle bell will work the lower back). For hams/glutes Romanian DL is one of the best. Also, a glute/ham machine will work those areas well. Squats done correctly are the best leg developer, period.
I like Optimum Nutrition protein powder and Muscle Milk ready made (I haven't tried the powder form yet). Be careful of cheap protein check for contents. Some of the cheap ones use crap protein sources. I don't like using too much (any, really) soy protein. Soy in large quantities, can become a testosterone inhibitor and an estrogen enhancer, not what I'm looking for in a protein supplement.
Do they work? Better than real food? No. Sometimes, though they are more convenient.
thakns,i already have been doing back extensions nd squats so i'll keep them up,thanks!
I take BSN NO-xplode (orange) before I work out and BSN Snyha 6 (mocha) they both taste great and ive never been in better shape. I lost about 14 pounds of muscle on the MRE/patrollingthroughinfectedpondwater diet so I lost a lot of ground but the supplements are helping me out immensely. would recommend not only the products but those particular flavors. I found they taste the best.
I've been out of the loop for 4 years...but what is the different between Creatine and Creatine Monohydrate? Why does flavored creatine require on scoop per serving while creatine monohydrate only requires a teaspoon per serving?
Muchos Gracias!
Noone really knows the difference. If you went into a GNC or Vitamin Shoppe, they would have no idea. If your going to take creatine just stick to the brand names like BSN cell mass. It's a good product, and from my experience and my other pals experiences they have said it's the best creatine.
Creatine Monohydrate is the basic form of creatine. It branches out from there. Generally, monohydrate is an unflavored, unscented white powder. The more advanced creatines generally are flavored. The rule of thumb for creatine monohydrate is 10g total per day, spread out between two 5g servings.
The advantage of using different creatines is that different people respond to creatine different ways. Some people (like myself) do not respond to monohydrate, but have a lot of luck with others. Also, the complex creatine blends often contain other supplements and simple carbs that accelerate the creatine absorption. Because these blends often contain other things, the servings may be bigger, but the actual creatine content is usually close to 5g per serving. Depends on the product.
Hrrmmm...I used to use EAS and Pro Preformance (GNC), but I used the scoop flavored sugary crap. This time I got Pro Preformance again but the monohydrate variation. My guess is that the scoop kind is the one that is usually flavored, so it has flavor powder and sugar to make for its mass.
