No I was thinking about dedicated running shoes, wich are in my opinion as good as the above mentionned..."training" shoes.

Now that being said, stay AWAY from adidas running shoes. The only pro is the weight, the Adizero shoes are extremely light and seem great...the first month. And they have this awkward way of fitting, "italian", narrow and small.

Thanks to all, been a great inspiration and help!
Mhh it's ghey but have you tried the elliptical machines? Style airwalk and what not? It will help you walking at a fatser pace, without the trauma on the treadmill. Overall it is a great workout when overweight (no offence intended).

Edit: Adux, 179/180cm tall? Mhh your Ideal weight is something only you can measure...For instance, I'm almost 180 (179.8 cm) and weigh 73 kg. I look like a ghey assclown, slender and relatively small...look yourself at the mirror and ask around you. How do I look? If the feedback is positive and you can do things you couldn't before (especially during sexytime) that's your Ideal weight!

Ya right now I'm browsing for a replacement for my Nikes. If I don't like these shoes then I'll probably make the jump to New Balance

No the trainers are always a bit larger and easier to wear, only they're heavier, but as mentionned you won't be going on a marathon rampage so, they will be good enough! Plus they're actually quite good looking.

You can not get rid of fat in certain areas. Only by reducing overall body fat composition.

    Thanks for that Anthony91.

Adux, good job on losing the weight. Why are you giving up meat? What are you taking in for protein? If you are working out more your diet needs to consist of protein, good carbs (lots of good veggies and some fruit) and fat (from good sources-olive oil, almonds, macadamia nuts, etc.)

Like dig said you can't spot reduce, just decrease your caloric intake and increase your caloric expenditure, it'll come off. Slow and steady wins the race.

What he said, plus Tuna, if you give up on lamb and beef, replace it by Tuna.

For a faster weight loss, try the "integral meal bars". They're crap but work great as placebo and you'll notice the adverse effects way too late to do anything about it. Now another point is your will.

What do you want to do and how far do you want to go. I started my work out just to loose weight, then it grew on me, so now it's more of a fitness/light body routine.

    Gents,

Reduction of Fat is of top prority to me, I am not fat by that much! I am only 10 kilos over-weight! I have a problem of getting fat fast as well as loosing fat fast!! Though my body has lost its firmness, I would call it ameoba-sic shape..lol ..now
I thought I will reduce 6 more kilos first (by walking and jogging) before getting into routine workout and weights!

I still eat fish, I have given up on Chicken, beef and others meats!!

Recently I've done some changes to my workout routine and my abs are better, as well as my run time.

    Situps:
For my Air Force PT test, my situps were usually down in the 40s per minute. I started a new routine for my abs, and after week of training, I'm up to the 50s! I also got up to the 50s even though I had a cold. The new routine helped!

Before this routine, I tried working abs the regular way through planks, flutter kicks, crunches, and situps with medicine balls. But it wasn't doing it for me.

The routine that did for me was 3-4 sets of each of these.
    Air Bikes
    Crunches
    High-to-Low Woodchoppers
    Jack Knifes
    V Ups

    Running:
I always lingered around 10:30 or slower on my 1.5 mile run. I would run for at least 3 miles a day and no improvement. Then with a couple weeks of High Intensity Training, I improved by 10 seconds. I run on my school's indoor track which is a 7th of a mile. So I jog a lap and sprint a lap. Each lap is a repetition and 4-7 is the target.

Also add a pool into your workout routine. You don't have to be a swimmer to take advantage of it. Using kickboards does wonders for your legs and abs.

Chicken atleast the one's you get over here from poultery farms, ie Broiler chicken, has hormones injected in them, to increase their weight!!! So either you get a farm grown chicken, which is not adulterated..eating chicken isnt just worth it..
As of now I am have enough mass, I want to reduce it, first; then work on firming up!!! I have nearly 10 more kilos to go!
I did 10.5 Kilometers and burnt nearly 700 calories yesterday! Was really proud and tired!!lol

    Gents,

I am at 90.5 Kilos from 96.5 in a span of about 2 weeks. My first 4 kilos went easy, but the next 1 kilos I had to work hard on it, I believe most of my fat is on my tummy area, any specific routine I should be looking at, to focus on tummy reduction. I can save atleast 4-5 kilos there I am sure!

My ideal weight should be around 83-84 Kilos, Just 8 more to go!

    Thanks in advance

    Adu

Hmm, I've lost around another 30lb since August and am at 189-190 right now, legs, and upper body are all getting there except I still have the damn dirty fatty ab blanket over my stomach. My diet is not phenomenal but it's certainly better than the average college student's (no soda, alcohol, fast food), I think I just need to start doing a lot more cardio stuff.
