It's too early to announce that it's official new main assault rifle for the ROK Armed Forces.

No official said it's going to be the next-generation main assault rifle unless the ROK Agency for Defense Development puts it as long-term research project.

So, it's still in 'rumor.'

I cannot understand the use of the 3-rounds burst option in the 5,56-mm XK-8 (DAR-21) assault rifle apart from locating the selector in so unergonomic place. By the way - the gas port looks very AK-like

We have been using AK style since long time ago.
If there's chance to see K-2 Rifle, u might think it is a variation of M-16.
However, it's only the outlook; the inside is actually the variation of AK-47
