MP.net Dumbarse of the week has a build in Self-fulfilling prophecy to it. I remember browsing OT&H never being interested in the dumbarse thread. Then getting a PM congratulating me with my nomination, which pissed me off, worse than if Ngati Tumatuenga had called my mother a beer drinking as astronaut. And in the wake of my rage, I posted some less nice posts.

Clearly I've said many stupid things, but I never recovered from this blow and whenever I see a new nomination, I'm reminded of how much it sucked to be targeted for using a text book example of sarcasm.

As of this day I've paid $67.560,95 trying to overcome the psycholocial consequences of this nomination.

Don’t the US Rangers usually clean up the “international” sniper competitions followed closely by a UK special forces group? The competition is held between: US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Israel, and maybe some other US friendly nations so it is not really an international definitive contest but maybe that is what ES is basing his statements.

Calling him the Dumbarse of the Week is a stretch.....

And regarding his so-called bad treatment of the weirdo on his SERE forum, the mods should know more than anyone the challenges of running a discussion forum, and weeding out all the flamers, posers, and idiots who will turn it into a a big joke.

I think that is well said.

We all bump heads from time to time. What seems clear and not rude to me, may not come across that way to another. I think part of the problem is the Textual environment we all operate in on most forums the message does not alway come across as we would like it too.

I respect a number of people in this thread, I feel this will all pass for the better.
