    Default Pants/trousers

Hey anyone have a good set of pants they would recommend for hiking? I hike about 15-20 miles on the weekend and my BDU pants have had it. I only used them 6 times and the crotch ripped out and the knees. Anyone know of a decent pair or pants that they use or recommend. Thanks

North Face A5 utility pants are glorious.

Believe it or not, Land's End Outrigger Pants. Tough, convert to shorts, Lots of pockets, flat seams. If they fail you, they give you your money back. Of course, they're decidedly un-military in appearance, if that matters to you...

x2 took those on a 17 mile hike in yosemite. the temp was 80-90f midday and i was always comfortable. I also have a pair of patagonia Stretch Jackalope Pants, which are more for rock-climbing but are great all round.

I cant comment on the 5.11s, but yes, Rail Riders are the absolute best pants Ive ever owned. I bought them for camping/hiking but wear them just about every day now.
